Ally Stedman 5’8 2021 G (Pinnacle)
Stedman was hot all weekend long. Every shot she put up seemed to go in. She easily scored over 20 in nearly every game. Her 3 point shot is lethal and she uses her size, strength, and quickness to get to the basket. She is also a pretty solid defender and passer as well.
Kamryn Doty 5’6 2021 G (Sabino)
Doty may have the best handles in the entire state. She looks like such a seasoned point guard out there. She easily handles pressure and breaks her defender down with her quick dribble moves. She is very strong which help her on defense and getting to the basket. She is a very underrated defender being able to guard bigs as well due to her strength.
Kam Rhodes 5’5 2022 G (Sabino)
Rhodes has a crazy passing IQ and feel for the game. It’s insane that she’s so young. She has a very good feel for the game and sense of where her teammates are and where they’re going to be. She makes some elite level passes and can easily break her defender down with quick dribble moves.
Madison Conner 6’0 2021 G (Perry)
Conner couldn’t be stopped, simply put. She got whatever she wanted and whenever she wanted it. She is able to score the ball at all three levels and has one of the prettiest jumpers you’ll ever see. She is smart and uses her body to create contact when attacking the paint and easily finishes with both hands.
Tatyanna Clayburne 5’8 2021 G (Perry)
Clayburne looked like she may have rolled her ankle but that didn’t stop her from playing and being effective. I expect nothing less from Clayburne as well, she loves the game and is a tough kid. She played more of a facilitating role this tournament probably due to the injury and Madison Conner shooting the lights out. She got her own shot when she needed to but really passed the ball and facilitated well. I thought this was a good showing because she usually plays more of a scoring guard role, this shows her versatility.
Mia Davis 5’11 2023 G (Xavier)
Davis made a big impact and let everyone know she’s arrived. The incoming freshman looked like a senior leader out there. She scored the ball so well and did it with ease for the most part. She did struggle a big against Kiya Dorroh and Marisa Davis, probably due to them being 6’1 and just as athletic and mobile as herself. I don’t know to her experience but I would guess that she probably hasn’t seen that type of player too often. Other than that, she scored the ball seemingly at will.
Lexi McNabb 5’5 2022 G (Seton Catholic)
McNabb is usually on my list due to her play making ability and passing skills. However, this time she makes the cut due to her scoring. I’ve been waiting to see her be more aggressive offensively, as I thought she had all the tools to be a solid scorer, and she proved me right this event. She knocked down a good amount of 3’s and penetrated the defense well and hit her signature floater.
