About Inarah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a defensive focused player. I am often tasked with holding the strongest offensive player on the opposing team. I am a defensive menace, more times that not holding top scoring players to their fewest points in a game. I have quick feet and a wide wingspan which helps me control the player I am defending.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a positive and competitive player, often quietly talking to my teammates and encouraging them throughout the game. I love my teammates and we have so much fun working hard and playing together. I am 100% a team player. We play lots of tough games and it can be mentally taxing. I like to be the person everyone looks to for love and support.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am active in the school band, I play to tuba in the concert band and the sousaphone (marching tuba) in the pep band. I am a junior assistant coach for my AAU club, helping coach the 6th grade team with Coach K and Mia. During the high school winter season I received an academic excellence award for maintaining good grade through the basketball season.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Prior to fully committing to basketball, I only participated in individual sports (swimming and track). I never wanted to count on anyone else. By playing a team sport, like basketball, I have come to enjoy the team work environment. Basketball is really hard and a lot of work but I am doing it with some of my closest friends. It feels good to be someone others can count on and rely on, anytime.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My sophomore season of high school, there was a lot of pressure on us to be the best. We were a fairly new team and had several injuries to some of our veteran/senior players. That season, we were the "most loosing" team since the early 2000's, people began to doubt us. We were breaking all kinds of records, just not the good kind. But we pulled it together when it mattered most and won state.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a defensive focused team. One that will use my defensive skill set to it's full potential. I want to be a part of a team that works together and works hard. I want to be a part of something bigger than me - a team that works together and builds strong relationships between the players and coaching staff. I am a very intimate person and relationships are important to me.

Ranked in the top 40 in the class of 2027, Nesbitt is a versatile guard/small forward who prides herself on being a defense-first competitor. Often assigned the toughest matchups, Inarah embraces the challenge and consistently delivers. That doesn’t show up as much in a showcase setting like the Expo, but her offensive skills certainly did. She demonstrated quickness, athleticism and plenty of craft. Playing with poise and a healthy dose of leadership qualities, Nesbitt is mature and steady. Inarah played a role last winter in 25 varsity appearances for Hopkins. With multiple graduations from last year’s rotation, she has a chance to emerge as a go-to contributor now.
