Durant may stand just 5’1, but the Hopkins guard’s impact is much larger. A dynamic and fearless performer, she plays with skill, swagger, and showmanship. At the PGH Sophomore ID Camp, Durant showcased elite ball-handling, pace, and creativity – slicing into gaps, dishing to teammates, and scoring off hesitation moves and smooth jumpers. Her quickness and control make her  difficult to defend. Defensively she’s equally disruptive, using anticipation and effort to create turnovers. Confident, elusive, and so much fun to watch, Durant continues to prove she can thrive even among taller, stronger competition.

Durant is flashy and fun to watch with her handles, footwork, and ability to shake defenders. At just 5’1, her quickness and craft allow her to get into gaps and create opportunities. After starting the day with some individual displays, Durant eventually settled into a more balanced role. She distributed well, scored some and was quite effective overall A confident shooter with excellent pace, she pressures defenders off the bounce and competes defensively with energy and anticipation.

Lanaia might be small but the Hopkins point guard packs a punch. Durant’s got skills, she’s got savvy, and she’s got swagger. We love watching Lanaia do her thing. The stocky freshman is an exceptionally good ball handler who can undress defenders one-on-one and get to the rim. Her hesitation dribble is class, the crossover can be killer, and she frequently employs both to create just enough room to knock down smooth pull-up jump shots with high frequency. It can be tough to get college opportunities at just 5’1 but as the great Ronnie Porter is proving at Wisconsin, you can do it if you’ve got enough game.
