The 2024 Syracuse commit heads into the Summer EYBL circuit with a chance to really elevate her game heading into next season. Schmitt is a dynamic floor general with great athleticism, and matches that with great instincts and anticipation on the defensive end. Schmitt is always looking to push the pace with fastbreak opportunities. She is dangerous in catch and shoot situations and relishes clutch moments. Schmitt likes to attack the paint and finish with her one handed floater. She will need to develop her shot mechanics for a quicker + higher release point. She has active hands and elite basketball IQ, always in the right place at the right time. Her greatest asset is her ability to make the hard pass look easy for easy buckets to open teammates.
Goryanova is a pure hooper. She has a Caitlin Clark confidence and a game to match. She is a confident shooter, and can sling it in a multitude of ways. Great shot mechanics with deep range from anywhere on the court. Great court vision with her signature touchdown pass on the break. Possesses active hands on defense and converts turnovers into fastbreak points. Goryanova has good footwork and handle, and is crafty in the paint usually finishing with her patented floater. Runs the pick and roll extremely efficiently with the ability to dish or drive at will.
Tayla Thomas Tayla Thomas 6’4″ | PF Montclair Immaculate | 2024 NY is a walking double double. She is a force in the paint with her defense and altering shots, cleaning the glass, and scoring very efficiently in the paint. Her ability to stretch the floor and create space will be the next step in her development. She has a nice feel for the game and knock down ability on the elbows with her jump shot. Utilizes her physicality to alter shots, attacks the paint, and has great mobility/athleticism for her size.
Dynamic and lightning quick Floor General that likes run the floor and get her teammates involved. She can beat you on the offensive end and is extremely difficult to guard. Can score at all three levels of the floor on the offensive end. Has a calm and cool demeanor to her game, possesses elite ball handling ability, and can make the extra difficult pass look super easy. Natural ability to see the floor and makes the right play often . Mid-range game is elite and can pick her spots and . Can defend at a high level with her quickness, footwork, and physicality to push through screens and switches.
Almon is one of the top forwards in her class for New York and is committed to Miami. She makes her living in the paint and running the floor. She possesses elite footwork off the pick and roll and positions herself in the post with a flurry of spin moves and hook shots. She has great touch around the basket and can beat you driving or with her back to the basket. She will be a lob threat at the next level, throw it up to her and she will come down with it and finish. She is an elite rebounder on both ends of the floor. Has the quickness to drive and beat opponents off the dribble and also has the playmaking ability to be a facilitator as a post forward.
