Kylin had a productive month of December, having continuous reliable play on the court. She is quick with the ball and excels when playing at her pace and being able to pick apart the defense. She gets downhill smoothly, having nice footwork in the paint to get open. She knocks down deep shots with ease as well, scoring 25 points against Eastside Catholic.
Emerging as a standout guard, Kylin is beginning to attract the Division 1 attention she has rightfully earned. Known for her fundamental skills, she excels at playing off two feet, consistently making smart and precise passes. Her ability to attack the ball with strength and control enables her to create open scoring opportunities effectively. With her combination of court awareness and physicality, she is poised to make a significant impact at the next level.
Kylin is a lockdown defender at the guard position, she excels in facilitating the offense while maintaining her defensive prowess. Her ability to read the court and make precise passes keeps the offense fluid and dynamic. On the offensive end, she is relentless in attacking downhill, frequently getting deep into the paint. Her skill in finishing through traffic is impressive, showcasing her strength and composure under pressure. Kylin’s dual threat as a defensive anchor and offensive catalyst makes her an invaluable asset.
Kylin had a big season last year for Seattle Prep, as she continued to show improvements in all aspects on the court throughout the season. Kinchen handles the ball in an elite way, seemingly having the ball on a string. She can knock down mid-range shots nicely, being able to find her spots effectively. She has started this AAU season off well too and I expect to see even more improvement.
Kylin has all the makings of a future Division 1 player. She plays quick, showcasing her speed with the ball often and pushing the pace in transition as much as she can. She knocks down shots off the dribble or off the catch, being a versatile player for her team. She recently filled the stat sheet against Roosevelt having 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists.
Anytime Kylin steps on the court, it’s clear she’s giving her team 110% effort. She does a great job finding her teammates for open shots, her energy on defense can’t be missed, and she hustles in transition to get easy buckets. She should be going into a big sophomore season for Seattle Prep.
One of the biggest hustlers of the day, Kinchen was constantly beating defenses down the floor for bucket after bucket. She was a high-energy player in every phase of the game, bursting down gaps to the hoop, pressuring ballhandlers, and using that pace to push the ball and find teammates. She made several nice assists on the go and was also able to knock down several pull-up jumpers.
Kylin played with a ton of energy throughout the day. She plays methodically, knowing what she is going to do next before she does it. She constantly found her spots on offense and easily knocked down many jumpers. She defended at a high level and showed she can guard all 5 positions on the court, always having active hands and quick reaction time.
How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout summer league during the month of June?
With my highschool team We only got to play in two tournaments in June , I feel like this was a transition time . We got a new coach who we are really excited about but do to sickness we had some struggles but we finished strong I feel like me personally I was able to step up and be a leader and play strong
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced last season? How will you overcome that next season?
I think we struggled with consistency and at times lack of chemistry . I think this will be a fresh season I im confident our new coach Talia Walton will bring more discipline and help us build good chemistry. I feel like with her energy it will be great for our team going into this next season
What do you think you improved most on the court since the season ended?
I have been working hard on ball handling Being more consistent with shots and being a leader I know last year I was the only freshman and I wasn’t comfortable taking on that role but my teammates trust me and I have to work on that this season
What are some expectations you have next season for yourself and your team?
I expect us to spend more time in the gym together and build the chemistry with out new coach I know she’s gonna get us really conditioned I expect myself to again be more of a leader and communication for me will be important . I think this will be a exciting year for my team
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this summer/AAU season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?
Kylin is a name you already might know but if you don’t, you should. Kinchen is a gritty player, being physical and giving it her all every time she’s on the court. She played great last year on a very talented team and should see her role increase next season with some players graduating. She gets downhill well, having a plethora of moves to get by opposing players.
