Journey Taylor-5’8 PG ( Lady Sharks United)
Taylor is one of the most complete guards in Texas and she’ll be added to the Top 100 plus on the next update coming soon and her ability to play both positions has always stood out, and so has her taking over games in the clutch. Mid to long-range is solid yet attacking strongly and finishing after contact played a huge part at the event, as did her court vision as she saw the floor in transition and off the dribble. She also played solid defense and rebounded, wait let me not omit her playing the passing lane
Andrea Lozoya-5’10 SF (Las Cruces Premier)
Lozoya did a good job of creating her shot under pressure and dropping it from midrange yet she also also showed the jumper in transition. Still, her knocking it down consistently was a plus, especially while doing it with a hand in her face. She also handled the ball and saw the floor under pressure, her “on the ball” defense was solid, she came away with steals using her quick hands and she also showed good timing to block shots
Trindi King-5’11 PF (Lady AE Black Amerisports)
King can be overpowering inside the paint as she scores around the basket as well as on putbacks, yes she hits the boards on both ends and watching her go after the ball off the rim has been refreshing all season as she has shown it both on and off the PGH Circuit. She also does a good job of setting the defender up to score off the dribble, her deceptive first step is part of the reason but she also dropped the midrange consistently
Alina Martin-5’9 PG (Lady AE Black Amerisports)
Martin is an athletic guard that has shown her athleticism on both ends all season long. Her “on the ball” defense baseline to baseline has been solid yet so has her attacking the basket explosively both in the set as well as in transition. Her spin move in the open court has been a treat to see and so has her court vision but watching her body control on her finishes after contact has also been a big plus, so has her rebounding
Jerney Bennett-6’0 PF ( Burner U ) OK
Benett is “long and athletic” and please remember that is the base as well as a very important profile for the next level. She scores off the dribble, solid body control, yet she also scores around the basket, putbacks included. Her ability to rebound and handle the ball in transition was nice yet what was even nicer was her decision-making and seeing the floor. Another intangible is she plays the passing lane
Macie Morales-5’2 PG (SMA 2024)
Morales grabs the cover because of her “threading the needle” in traffic over and over and watching her throw “on the money” passes from 25 feet was nice but she also made good decisions. She understands how to get hers “in the flow” and her attacking the basket with either hand was nice, so were finishes and body control. She hit the midrange and her defense was solid
