Drew Terkildsen – Philip – 5’4 – As the rules to this haven’t changed neither have my grading scales. Drew is a solid PG that exhibits true leadership capabilities. On the year she averaged 7.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. The thing I love more than assists are steals. On the year she averaged 3.4 steals a game and plays phenomenal aggressive defense. Don’t let this ones size fool you. Drew is a hooper and my choice at starting PG for team 2.
Emmerson Eppard Emmerson Eppard 5'8" | SG Chester Area | 2026 State SD – Chester – 5’9 – Debatable for team 1, Eppard is as solid as they come on the court. A player that can play 1-3 in my opinion and has been playing varsity since the 8th grade. On the year Eppard averaged 12.3 points, 8.5 rebounds 2.6 assists and 2 steals a game. As Eppard’s contributions statistically took a fall her on-court presence didn’t. She upped her numerical numbers shooting 5% better than last year 11% better from the charity strike and decreased her turnovers by over 50%. She’s proved in the past that she was a bucket-getter and will no doubt show that ability agian this season.
Kylie Sachtjen – Winner – 5’7 – Between Kylie and Emmerson I feel like the 3 spot is definitely flexible between the two. Kylie is a quick aggressive hound that knows how to play solid defense. On the year she averaged 8.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 3.3 steals a game. In terms of overall player Kylie is well-rounded in many different facets from spacing the floor to reading the defense like a book in help side defense. This is my small forward pick for team 2.
Amree Vander – Eureka – 5’8 – Amree is an undersized 4 but can stretch the floor with her shooting capabilities and handles. She’ll need to learn to handle the ball better under pressure but has a knack for hitting a sweet-looking mid-range shot. On the year she averaged 7.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal per game. For shooting she shot a mid 30% from the field. Amree has been playing varsity since the 8th grade and has progressively gotta better each year. This year I’m predicting over 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals a game with shooting 34% from the field.
Mataya Gouws – Deubrook – 5’10 – Upside and potential! A smart player that doesn’t try and do too much. Shot 43% from the field averaging almost 3 points and 2 rebounds a game. Mataya has a lot of early skills that make her a valuable player. As she continues to grow as a player she’ll excel on this solid Deubrook squad that is consistently solid year in and out.
That’s my 5 for team 2 Sophomores. In the next article, we’ll discuss Juniors and dissect them in a 2 part series filling up a roster of 2 teams of 5.
