Event coverage continues with Team 4 out of 10 in the Prep Girls Hoops Expo this season. Who were the players on this squad? Well, I guess it time to read up on them right here on your source for basketball coverage in the Palmetto State. #RecruitThePalmettoState
Taylor made the move over to Carvers Bay HS this summer after playing at county rival Georgetown HS. K’moni is a RAW talent still on the hardwood. Taylor moves well and shows good athleticism. She can knockdown the short jumper from time to time. Taylor will be a nice addition to the Lady Bears for some good minutes and size up front.
Harvey is a true post player who can play with her back to the basket. Anasia likes to play face-up to the basket at times and has the ability to connect on a short corner jumper. Harvey will rebound on both ends of the floor while keeping the ball up high. She seems to be best suited currently in a good half court setting style of play.
Highlights
Crosland is constantly all over the floor with her play. She plays so active and really swarms the ball on the defensive end of the floor. Crosland a wing player has good length and athleticism to create her own shot at times. She likes to slash to the cup or simply pop a jumper from the perimeter. Lauren has good range out to the three-point line.
Highlights
Bracebridge is a back to the back post player. Karla will post up down low and tends to show a soft set of hands when receiving the ball. She is best suited in a half court setting where she can receive touches down on the block.
Jenkins seems to be back for the Lady Bears. Jasmyn a left-handed guard is a streaky shooter from the perimeter. Today she was able to drop a few floaters on the way to the cup. This past summer she decided not to play on the Grassroots Circuit. Jenkins started off her career at Myrtle Beach HS.
Smith took care of a lot of the point guard duties here today for Team 4. Samaria can play at a fast or slow pace up the floor. Smith was able to jump on the deck for some 50/50 balls at times. Samaria played aggressive all day long and had no problems touching the paint at times.
Highlights
Hanks really likes to work her magic from behind the arc. Henley plays better off the ball while spotting up out behind the three-point line. She tends to be ready to receive the ball in the pocket and shows a nice form on her shot.
Highlights
Blye is just a freshman and that’s the scary thing. She plays so mature for her young age already on the floor. Jurnee brings the HUSTLE to the floor at all times. Blye is a VOCAL leader and really likes to play the game on contact. She constantly battles inside the paint, and she really understands where her production will come from night in and night out.
Highlights
Wilson is a new name for the Prep Girls Hoops database for sure. Arielle will suit up for the Lady Eagles this coming season.
