Tough out for Lara, as the Healdton had a pretty stacked deck to start the playoffs. I’ve seldom heard a coach talk as glowingly about a player as veteran coach Mike Phillips does about Lara. Was excited to see her in action again at the Rush Springs Black Diamond Tournament, which was unfortunately cancelled due to weather. They were likely heading towards a second meeting with another Area II contender in Empire. Terrific prep career for a multi-talented forward. Did a great job creating offense against Hydro in a close loss. Headed to Oklahoma Wesleyan in the fall.

A strong power forward that can play the 3 and 4 spot. Showed good handles in the open floor that would fit into a 4 or 3 guard offense. Attacks the baseline strong using her body shielding off the taller defender. A power forward that can hit the open 3. Nice mid range pull up jumper off the drive.
Jaclyn has received offers from several small colleges. Ranked at #128 in the state she could possibly be a hidden gem for someone

Lara has been one of my biggest surprises this season and she never fails to leave me speechless yet gives me a lot to write about. She’s also a couple of inches shy of that “magic number” yet you wouldn’t know it without a roster. I enjoy her “hands and footwork” because that is #THROWBACK and believe it or not, it’s still effective yet I don’t see enough of it. She also understands how to seal the defender to score around the basket yet she also does that a number of ways, putbacks included. Yes, she rebounds on both ends and did a good job defending both in and outside the paint

Lara was good on Saturday and REALLY good on Sunday as she was one of those “never takes a play off” players who just brought it hard on both ends. She created her shot under pressure and dropped the jumper with a hand in her face yet her aggressiveness off the dribble to score after contact was nice. She did a good job defensively and also played the passing lane

Another player that I wrote the word “positionless” by on Sunday is

. Only this time I underlined it several times as I kept seeing her do “positionless” things. I did it as she scored consistently in the post. I did it again when she faced up defensively with a guard and had no problem locking them down. I did it again when she drained a few long range shots with a gorgeous jumper. Again when she rebounded the ball on the defensive end, then instinctively dribbled behind her back or between her legs to get out of traffic. But, then she started guarding bigs, posting up bigs, locking down bigs. Like I said, positionless. She can do it all.
