I really can’t argue with any of them (they’re all likely going to be really good unless there are some injuries or something else happens) but I’d add there are some more squads that have a chance to make some noise. Here are a few of them:
Buena
The Colts, who were already a high playoff seed, should bring back their top nine (yes, you read that right) scorers. They are led in the scoring category by Alani Encinas (14 ppg) and Lydia Griffith (11.5). But, don’t forget Jaslyn Booker who averaged a double-double in a tough conference (11 ppg, 10 rpg). They will have another year to solidify just about everything on the court and grow together.
Verrado
They were really, really young last season, but the Vipers will still be young and talented again in the coming winter. Verrado is led by junior Maya Rubio (11 ppg, 10 rpg) and sophomore Alicia Marquez (10 ppg). They bring back a lot of shooters, which will allow them to spread the court and score from all parts of the floor.
Desert Mountain
A perennially-solid team, expect nothing less than another winning season from the Wolves again this year. They should be led by a pair of seniors in Jaedyn O’Reilly and Sophie Gerber, who both hovered around 10 ppg last season.
