Top 250 Expo: Underclassmen Standouts

The talented underclassmen seemed to be a reoccurring theme throughout the day. Rutledge was aggressive all afternoon, pressuring ball-handlers and forcing turnovers. She had a number of strong finishes at the rim and really embraces contact well. Fenderson's skillset and IQ both surpass most her age. She was very effective working out of the pick and roll and when defenses sat back, Fenderson made them pay with the three-ball. She's still early in her career but the skillset is well-rounded with room still to grow. On multiple occasions, Mullens displayed the ability to break down defenders with her handle and knock down shots off the dribble. Holley exhibited some impressive poise for a freshman and at times, it seemed like the game was moving in slow motion for her. Around the paint, Holley made nearly all of her floaters and showed some soft touch. She wasn't overly aggressive or ball dominant but you can see the swagger in the way she pulls the three with no hesitation. Thurman was as deadly of a spot-up option as we saw on Saturday and buried a number of three-pointers. She's got deep range too, able to setup several feet behind the three-point line and still knock down shots.
