<p>With three players projected in the top nine are six-foot or taller. Head Coach Bob Wells hopes this crew can earn Shawnee Heights a spot in the Class 5A state tournament for the first time since 2011.</p>

<p>Canady is a plus-ball handler. She can dribble with speed and moves well to both her right and left. She makes solid passes and sees the court well. She is currently ranked No. 183 in the Class of 2024 by Prep Girls Hoops.</p>

<p>Schulte can stop and pop the three. She does a good job of finding open players when being double-teamed. The senior forward can play solid defense and rebound the ball.</p>

<p>Swift has a big reach and can block shots. She moves well for a post player and she can score from inside the paint.</p>

<p>Torrez is a multi-sport player who I have seen play volleyball. She is a physical athlete and I have heard basketball is he favorite sport to play. She is a plus defender and works hard to get the team out in transition after rebounds and steals.</p>

<p>Vega is in the same boat as Torrez in terms of being a solid two-sport prospect. Volleyball might well be her best sport. She is fast for her size and has the ability to play four positions on the court.</p>

<p>Other athletes looking to step up for Shawnee Heights this season include Haley Bowers ('25), Taylor Brees ('25), and sophomore Jaidyn Euwer.</p>
