The top prospects have been playing at an elite level in the last few weeks in the Tampa area. I've seen players mic'd up, post players backed up, and statistics stacked up. In this article we hilight the top performances in Hillsborough county over the last few weeks.   [player_tooltip player_id='248428' first='Kalese' last='Salter'] has been very productive this high school season at Tampa Bay Tech. Through 6 games, she has averaged 12.5 points per game. Salters heated up last week, scoring 22 and 16 in two games. It wasn't just the points that were impressive, but the constant pressure she puts a defense under with her speed and quickness. She is on attack and is a playmaker in the process. Salter also contributed on defense and on the boards. An all around solid week for the talented guard.   [player_tooltip player_id='664282' first='JoLesa' last='Birkhead'] has turned heads since the AAU season ended and continues to do so with her special play on the court. The athletic guard can do it all on the court - shoot the three, drive the ball, and apply pressure on the defensive end. Other intangibles include, high IQ, high energy, communicates well, and is a team player. Birkhead was recently named the player of the week in Hillsborough County. During the first 4 games, the versatile lefty averaged 25.6 points per game.   [player_tooltip player_id='428046' first='Izellah' last='Kendrick'] is a blend of power and skill and can flat out get it done on the basketball court. There is no surprise she is always in the running for top player in the Tampa area. She has the ability to step out on the perimeter, score from the outside and open up the floor in the process. She can also dominate in the paint and with power. Kendrick is one of the best juniors in the State of Florida and she will win a lot of player of the week awards before it is said and done.   [player_tooltip player_id='439459' first='Ashley' last='Knox'] has been balling out this season and through 10 games the young Sophomore is averaging 15.3 points per game and nearly 4 rebounds per game.   [player_tooltip player_id='214172' first='Beckham' last='Hockley'] recently scored her 1000th point and that comes as no shock. Hockley is a great scorer and great high school baller. She has been balling out this year and is averaging 21.7 points through six games, including a monster scoring game with 31 points. She also has knocked down 22 threes through the first 6 games. Twenty-two is a good number for Hockley. She ranks 22 in the state in scoring. In addition to scoring, she is a great leader and play maker on her team.   [player_tooltip player_id='349277' first='Gabby' last='Bush'] had a good performance last week, scoring 22 points in a victory against Keswick Christian. Bush is a versatile player who can play 4 positions on the offensive side, including the point guard position. Bush ranks 40th in the State in Scoring with 19.8 points per game.   [player_tooltip player_id='426237' first='Simarkae' last='Mclean'] is scorching the nets to a 23.4 point average over 8 games and that includes an incredible 38 point game this week. McLean ranks 11th in the state in scoring. She can score in multiple ways, including attacking off of the bounce and shooting from long range. She has knocked down 20 threes in the first 4 weeks of play.   [player_tooltip player_id='248347' first='Nina' last='Green'] had a nice performance this week, scoring 12 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds to keep her team in the undefeated category. Green is averaging over 8 points per game and doing it on the defensive end with 4.5 steals per game.
