Taylor Comes Up Big Down the Stretch:
K’moni Taylor K’moni Taylor 5'9" | SF Carvers Bay | 2024 State SC scored 6 points in the final 2:28 to help the Lady Bears secure the win 52-47 over Goose Creek HS. Taylor connected on a short jumper and 4 made free throws down the stretch. Taylor finished with 8 points in the game. K’moni a transfer from Georgetown HS was constantly around the ball tonight to make a play it seemed for the Lady Bears.
Senior Geathers-Washington Shines:
Senior post player Jerchel Geathers-Washington Jerchel Geathers-Washington 6'0" | PF Carvers Bay | 2024 State SC finished with 20 points in the Lady Bears win. Jerchel did most of her damage around the cup on putbacks. Geathers-Washington has good footwork around the paint. Geathers-Washington a unsigned senior showed some flashes tonight with her play. She needs to bring effort at all times while on the floor to translate over to the next level.
Sanders Keeps Lady Gators in the Game:
Saniya Sanders Saniya Sanders 5'4" | PG Goose Creek | 2025 State SC a left-handed junior guard finished with 15 points in the loss for the Lady Gators. Sanders was able to knockdown several three-pointers this evening. Sanders played last season at Cathedral Academy in the SCISA Class 2A ranks.
Lady Gators Have Bright Future:
Head Coach Jabari Deas has NO Seniors on the roster this season at Goose Creek HS. Demi Gray Demi Gray 5'7" | PG Goose Creek | 2026 State SC , point guard Aiyanna Moses Aiyanna Moses 5'2" | PG Goose Creek | 2026 State SC and Celeste Griffin Celeste Griffin 5'5" | SG Sedgefield M.S. / Goose Creek | 2028 SC are just a few names to keep an eye on moving forward for the Lady Gators. Gray a guard does her best work getting to the basket and scoring around the paint area. Demi is constantly working towards the basket and really looks to excel in the transition game.
Moses plays connected on a few short floaters this evening. She generally holds down the backcourt running the point guard position.
Griffin is just an 8th grader, but she surely doesn’t play like a youngster. Celeste plays the game very composed for her age while logging a lot of minutes. Griffin plays the game very confident while shooting the ball on the perimeter.
Lady Bears Have Young Roster:
Jasmyn Jenkins Jasmyn Jenkins 5'6" | CG Carvers Bay | 2025 State SC , D’Essence Graham D’Essence Graham 5'3" | CG Carvers Bay | 2025 State SC , Erykah Brown Erykah Brown 5'5" | PG Carvers Bay | 2026 State SC and Jurnee Blye Jurnee Blye 5'11" | PF Carvers Bay | 2027 State SC are all back next season. Jenkins a left-handed guard came into the contest averaging 10.2 ppg on the year. Jenkins finished with 6 points and a few floor burns this evening. Graham and Brown are great role players for the Lady Bears. Blye is just a freshman who plays with a lot of toughness and grit for her age around the basket.
Big Win for the Lady Bears:
The Carvers Bay HS Lady Bears move to (4-4) on the season and defeat a Class 5A program. The Lady Bears have suffered losses to Hartsville HS, Carolina Forest HS and Lake View HS (Twice) this season.
