We're in the first third of the high school girls basketball season here in New Jersey and this season's freshman class hasn't waited at all to show up and show out on the floor. Here's a quick look at some Class of 2027 prospects who have stood out on the court in the Garden State.

[player_tooltip player_id='831437' first='Khalia' last='Lewis'] - F, Our Lady of Mercy

OLMA had two impact seniors that we already knew were going to play a big role this season. However, a pleasant surprise on the floor has been the freshman forward [player_tooltip player_id='831437' first='Khalia' last='Lewis'], averaging 13.9 PPG and 13.7 RPG through her first seven games of the year. This includes more than a block a game and two steals a game, really an all-around performance from her that's added frontcourt depth to the Villagers' roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='831435' first='Giavanna' last='Heller'] - G, Audubon

Through Audubon's first six games of this season, the Green Wave sit just three wins away from equaling their win total from last season. Audubon's surprising 6-0 start has been spearheaded by several players, but the freshman guards [player_tooltip player_id='831435' first='Giavanna' last='Heller'] has been a surprise of her own. Really impressive start to her high school career, averaging 7.7 PPG and 3.0 SPG with three double-digit scoring performances thus far.

[player_tooltip player_id='835906' first='El-Anita' last='Joe-Samuel'] - G/F, Lenape

Lenape has found a diamond in the rough in Joe-Samuel, an impressive and versatile piece on the floor for this team that's now 4-3 on the season. Through seven games, she's averaging 11.4 PPG with six double-digit scoring performances, including four-straight so far. She's averaging one made three-pointer a game and is a constant force on a conference contender.

[player_tooltip player_id='831178' first='Makayla' last='David'] - G, Kearny

Kearny might have found its three-point shooter of the future in David, someone who's knocked down 2.4 three-pointers a game this season while averaging 14.6 PPG in five games played. The Kardinals are a player in the HCIAL, and with a player like David leading the way, this program is in good hands for the rest of this season and for the next four years.

[player_tooltip player_id='789171' first='Juliet' last='Johnson'] - C/F, Morris Hills

Johnson has impressed to begin the year for Morris Hills, a constant presence in the frontcourt that this team has appreciated greatly this season. She's averaging 9.3 PPG and 8 RPG through her first seven games played, with two double-doubles this season. Add 1.6 steals a game and even more impressive 3.7 blocks a game, you have one of the most fearsome forwards in North Jersey.
