The 2024 Midwest Nominees were recently released. There was a collection of high level players from Michigan on the list. Let’s take a look at the nominees.
Abney is a name that should be on the list of nominees. She can simply dominate in all aspects of the game. In doing so, Abney has put up some jaw dropping numbers. She has controlled games as a scorer, rebounder and passer. That’s not even mentioning her ability to pick up more than a handful of steals and defensive stops.
Highlights
Davis is an elite prospect on a national scale and will be headed to Georgia when her college career begins. She’s a strong and physical player that attacks and chases down rebounds. Davis has a lot of versatility, with an ability to handle and dish like a lead guard but defend and rebound all over the floor.
Summer Davis Summer Davis 5’9″ | PG West Bloomfield | 2024 State MI , like Indya, was a nationally targeted recruit and will be playing college ball at Georgia. She’s one of the top scorers you’ll see this season as she can attack the defense with power or finesse. Davis is an elite 2 way player that can and will buckle down, get stops and create turnovers.
Hendrix walked into high school basketball as a star. She will leave as a star and a motivational figure. Despite 2 ACL injuries, Hendrix has come out ahead. She’s still a star, has still improved her game and will be headed to Loyola Chicago to play college basketball. Hendrix is a matchup night mare that can attack inside-out or outside-in.
Swanson is very deserving of this honor. She has been a points and rebounds double-double machine since she stepped into high school. Swanson has simply dominated the paint for years now. The Marian star is a leader on and off the court. She will be playing at Butler when her high school career is finished.
