Simmie Colson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Blair is electrifying with the ball, and her ability to change direction while going full speed is among the best in the state, all classes included. Her acrobatic finishes after contact is one thing, but the explosiveness off the dribble is a problem, yet her court vision, her “stop and pop” jumper, as well as her “catch and shoot” were all pluses

Blair can blow by defenders in the blink of an eye, and seeing her turn on the “turbo” in transition is always a treat for me. What I also loved was her threading the needle from over 20 feet to hit teammates on the money, yet her “on the ball” pressure and quick hands got her steals, she finished strongly off the dribble, and dropped it from outside

Pearland HS to Houston Christian
Blair turned heads this summer on the Adidas 3SSB circuit and capped it off with a strong showing at the Adidas 3SSB All-American Camp in Ladera Ranch, California — making her case as one of the upperclassmen point guards to watch. She’s expected to continue her momentum at Houston Christian in the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC). Blair’s ability to read gaps and create scoring opportunities stands out, and she complements that with tough, on-ball defense that generates steals and easy buckets.

Blair can be a blur as she goes by defenders with ease. Having that turbo in transition makes her hard to handle because of her ability to stay under control while scoring, either off the dribble or by dropping the stop and pop. She also did a good job defensively and saw the floor

Blair is becoming a “thrill a minute” player with the ball and I tweeted she can get to wherever she wants, whenever she wants against whoever she wants because of her ballhandling and ability to change speed from going to a complete stop and then exploding by defenders is among the best in Texas, all classes included. She also zig-zags in traffic in the open court but her midrange jumper looked good and that, coupled with her scoring off the dribble, kept the defender guessing.

Blair is one of those players I can’t blink because not only is she among the fastest with the ball, under control who can play, but she is making some tough plays look easy. Her body control is ahead of her years, especially after contact yet her reading the floor on both ends, seeing teammates in transition on offense, and playing the passing lane on defense was nice, so were her picking pockets and after that, off to the races

Blair put on one of the most impressive performances by a freshman during the playoffs I have seen over my over a SCORE of paying attention to girl’s basketball, Ebonie Mangum dropping 28 in the final quarter to help take Dulles to state was the best yet Blair stamped her ticket that’s embedded in my memory. She was simply in a zone and her “will to win” JUST DID IT for me. The baseline pull-up jumper with a hand in her face, her acrobatic finishes, some after contact, her court vision as well as mid to long-range, all played a part yet her defensive pressure, baseline to baseline was smothering. A high school coach from a rival team gave me an assist early on this young lady, I didn’t blow the shot

Blair has looked more impressive each time I’ve caught her since the start of the season and what she did last night solidified her being one of the top freshman in the country. Here’s the deal, I haven’t seen all of them but I’m not a novice and I know where the bar has been set so as she dazzled defenders with her ballhandling to attack, her acrobatic finishes after contact were very nice. She showed the HEZ, then exploded, yet her pull-up jumper was hard to contain and when she wanted the ball down the stretch and delivered from the baseline and drop the winning bucket, that JUST DID IT for me, pun intended

Blair is a move in from another state yet she made a STATEMENT the first time I caught her playing. She’s an athletic guard that understands how to use her athleticism on both ends, nice body control on her finishes after contact, solid jumper yet her “on the ball” pressure can be smothering baseline to baseline. It’s also impressive when opposing high school coaches hit me up asking “have you seen this kid”
