I really enjoy how well-rounded her floor guard abilities are. Brooke can push the ball on fast breaks and pushes the pace of the game well. She can locate her teammates with ease and has outstanding court vision. Her game should continue to get better, and I think she’ll have a true future for the game of basketball. She has had a very steady and consistent season. She moves up in the rankings from number 35 to 33.
Highlights
A guard with excellent ball handling skills. Observing her play and the floor, it is clear that she never fails to make her mark on the court. She is a fierce competitor who never backs down; her basketball knowledge, talent, and toughness are all very high! Reliable with the ball, strong hands, loves to isolate her defender and score at the rim. She is just really putting on a show at Purcell Marian, with a steady season and work ethic she will continue to rise. In the latest rankings she move up from number 43 to 34.
The most significant skill she has is her amazing defensive ability. She can finish at the rim in any manner while improving on her midrange shot, which is lightning fast. Very long to where it is hard to score around her. She has excellent footwork and is quite athletic to create plays in the paint. Able to defend the rim, block, and modify shots. Being the primary scorer, when she has the ball in her hands she just wants to score…. and will. With her having already a great season she’s only going to improve. Moving up to number 48 to number 45 in the rankings.
A very high skilled athlete in which she could score from any location and has strong board control. Excellent handles and the ability to put the ball on the ground to score at the hoop. Nice length and protects the paint. Incredibly fluid with the ball, enjoys attacking and dribbling through multiple defenders. Very active on both sides of the court and has no trouble stopping the attacking threat on the other team! Having a great showing twice in front of the Prep Girls Hoops writers! Moves up in the rankings from the watch list to number 46.
Kali Fortson
Kali Fortson
She exudes a powerful physical presence beneath the boards. Powering the ball to the rim and scoring, she takes open shots and makes plays. This elite athlete makes a significant impact. Fortson’s aggression in the paint makes it hard for her defender to even get open. She is an amazing rebounder and can just take over a game in a blink of an eye. She is a tremendous contributor to the team and a strong player to score. A very strong physical force on both ends and improves her game daily. In the updated rankings she moves up from number 53 to 51.
