TOMBALL
Danielle Oyakhire-5’11 F (2025)
Oyakhire used her frame inside the paint on both ends and her interior defense immediately grabbed my attention, along with her rebounding on both ends of the court yet she also BATTLED for everything, not just off the rim but loose balls as well. She showed her versatility by defending “on the ball” and playing the passing lane but her “hands and footwork” were also nice
Mallory Lehman-5’6 G (2025)
Lehman attacked the basket strongly and finished the same way but she also did a good job of creating her shot and dropping the jumper from midrange. She also showed she could knock it down in transition and did a good job defensively
Amelia Preston-5’8 G (2025)
Preston showed she could knock down shots and her “catch and shoot” from deep was nice but she also attacked the basket to score or dish yet her threading the needle in traffic a few times had me smiling. Good defender and rebounder
Maddie Caldwell-5’10 F (2027)
Caldwell was another of the freshmen I saw that showed some solid upside. She does things fluidly, went after the ball off the rim, and played the passing lane. She also scored around the basket, putbacks included, and played good interior defense
CY LAKES
Aniah Alexis Aniah Alexis 5'8" | SG Cy Lakes | 2024 State TX -6’1 CG (2024)
Alexis had 20 of their first 30 points and I had a flashback of driving an hour to see her in a middle school tournament in Waller so she dropped 40 which isn’t what impressed me, it was the variety of ways she did it. Fast forward to now, she put her team on her back and refused to let it get too far ahead so off the dribble, posting up as well as the mid to long-range were in full effect
Jayla Mohamed-G
Mohammed wasn’t listed on the roster so I’m not sure what class she’s in but I know she gave them several sparks to not only start but stop the momentum, She falls into that #sizedontmatter group I love to hashtag because she can play and her intensity defending was huge, so was her playing the passing lane yet she also did a good job distributing the ball
Makennah Alexis Makennah Alexis 5'7" | CG Cy Lakes | 2026 State TX -5’7 CG (2026)
Alexis JUST DID IT down the stretch because her 30-plus footer made me spill my water to tie it up I believe yet peep this, she read the court and made the steal of the game and dropped the FLOATER to all but seal the victory
Dana Jefferson-6’0 F (2024)
Jefferson is “long and athletic” which will always be the base and her playing solid defense “on the ball” as well as playing the passing lane was nice, and so was her rebounding
Lauryn Jefferies-F (2027)
Jefferies is “long and athletic”, see above, and her mannerisms as well as doing things instinctively caught my eye off the top. She reacts and regroups well, runs the floor, rebounds, and has good timing as well as upside
