Cocke County (24-7) has now won 12 in a row after their district tourney win over Fulton on Thursday 63-57. Blake Clevenger Blake Clevenger 5’6″ | SG Cocke Co. | 2026 State TN was dominant with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Shakyra Reed also had a nice performance with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals.
They face off against Northview tonight at 7:30.
Newman had a huge week! First, in their huge win over McMinn Central (away in the Round House), Newman went off in her head-to-head battle vs Molly Masingale Molly Masingale 5’9″ | SF McMinn Co. | 2024 State TN . Newman had 31 points and 11 rebounds in their 76-75 win. Then, as the district tournament began, she turned in a 24 point, 11 rebound performance vs Austin East in limited minutes. Maddy Newman Maddy Newman 6’2″ | C Gatlinburg-Pittman | 2024 State TN is different.
Northview advances to the championship game on Monday night. They’ve been led by Reagan Brown Reagan Brown 5’8″ | SG Northview Academy | 2024 State TN all season, and she’s just continued her excellence directly into the postseason. Last week Brown had 22 points, six rebounds, and 3 steals in their win over Grainger. Then, in district tourney play, she had 12 points, 2 steals, and a block in their win over Seymour on Friday.
Highlights
Greenville is headed to the championship game on Monday night. Abby Adkins was dominant, scoring 17 points (all in the first half) in extremely limited minutes.
Adkins coach said the following about her performance: “They just didn’t have an answer,” Watts said of Adkins. “She’s never had to carry a team. She played mostly JV last year, she didn’t get to play a lot of varsity. The kid, she’s matured, come along and loves the responsibility that she has. She’s such a good leader.”
Really fun watching kids step up their games in the post season.
Cheatham County brought home the District 11-2A Tournmanent championship on Saturday night. Ellie Pardue Ellie Pardue 5’4″ | PG Cheatham Co. Central | 2024 State TN and Montana Lee both got hot, and stayed hot from 3. This Cheatham team has been incredible all season, and they will be hosting a Region Tournament game on Friday.
“This team has been very special from the get-go,” Cheatham County coach Jim Gibbs said. “We gave ourselves an opportunity to win and we had a ‘never say die’ attitude. I knew we didn’t shoot the ball well in the first half but in the second half we got some stops, hit some threes and that’ll get you back in the game quick.”

Moore County has done it again. The combination of a fierce Raiderettes defense, mixed with a bigtime perfomance from tournament MVP, Madison Dingler (6-9 from the field) helped lift Moore County to a 40-37 win over Eagleville and their second District 9A Championship in a row on Friday.

On Friday night at Happy Valley High School, the North Greene Lady Huskies (23-8) earned a trip to the District 1-A championship with a 61-35 victory over Unaka in the semifinals. Sophomore Ella Head, and senior Lauren Blevins both put up big time perfomances in the win.
Anytime North Greene wins and I don’t have to mention Hannah Miller Hannah Miller 6’1″ | PF North Greene | 2025 TN or Haley Bailey….then good things are happening for North Greene.
