The senior is in rare territory as she’s hunting both a state championship, and remarkably close to some big time individual records.  After her 13 point 10 rebound double double in the Regions Championship, Molly Masingale Molly Masingale 5'9" | SF McMinn Co. | 2024 State TN has scored 2,498 career points.  That puts her just 2 shy of 2,500! and only 101 points away from breaking the McMinn Central all-time scoring record of 2,599 held by Elizabeth Masengil.  Just letting you guys know…there is a big-time record in play that nobody seems to be talking about.

Masingale did everything in her power to propel her #1 ranked McMinn Central team against the #3 Gatlinburg Pittman crew.  She scored 16 in the first half, hit a late three to take the lead, and finished the game with 34 points.  Karina Bystry Karina Bystry 5'10" | PG McMinn Central | 2025 State TN finished with 17, including two clutch free throws to put MC up 1 with 12 seconds to play.

Tough when you get a combined 51 points from your top two scorers and still lose.  This loss hopefully shows Central something they needed to learn heading into the postseason.

1st Team Wing — Masingale has put together a tremendous senior season while 1) facing major pressure to return to the 2A state championship game on a team returning all starters, and 2) playing an incredibly tough early season schedule.  Spear heading a terrific start to the McMinn Central season, Masingale has averaged 21 points, 3.5 assists, 7 rebounds, and is shooting 42% from three. She’s also a high level defender, and she’s priority #1 for every team to stop.  Her ability to keep her efficiency numbers high is a real testament to her skillset.
