in who was cutting to the basket in stride for an easy layup. You are not throwing that pass in traffic if you are not playing with a lot of freedom and confidence. GiGi was very effective at the point guard position and did a nice job spraying the ball around the courts to her open teammates on offense, passing up shots she would have normally taken in the past playing the wing. She is a very talented and skilled player who is very good putting the ball in the basket so it was a nice surprise to see her play completely different position and change her game to fit that role. If she can consistently demonstrate her ability to play the point guard position like she did on Friday, then her opportunities at the next level will increase dramatically.

(“Gigi”) delivered was one of the most electrifying prospects in the building. Time after time, “Gigi” delivered momentum-shifting plays. The junior guard had a standout showing against Evangelical Christian, where she scored 23 points with 17 coming in the second half. She consistently answered runs and provided the scoring spark Holy Trinity needed to maintain control. Over the course of the weekend, she combined for 30 points while adding 6 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks, demonstrating her ability to impact the game in multiple areas. Her intangibles are as elite – the energy, creativity, quickness, flair, and most of all, her confidence. She used all of the above to lift both her teammates and the crowd.

GiGi performed really well once again against good competition at an elite event. Offensively she is very skilled which she showed against Regis Jesuit, scoring the ball in a variety of ways. She did a nice job pushing the ball in transition and getting to the basket as well as breaking down her defender and knocking down a short jumper in the paint. Jones knocked down shots from three point range as well. One coming in the corner from a nice Leila Bryant assist. Another coming from the top of the key on the move after a dribble hand off. Jones’ stock continues to rise for good reason.

Her ability to shift her body one way and immediately snatch back the other creates instant separation, allowing her to either attack the rim or pull up for a shot. Gianna is a certified BUCKET with the ball in her hands and one of the best shot creators in the state.

is having a breakout party this season and everyone is invited. There were plenty of ball handlers encountered over the summer and fall, and “Gigi” left a lasting impression with her handles, shiftiness, and most importantly- her ability to put the ball in the basket. Conklin-Jones can shoot from the perimeter which makes her that much more difficult to cover. You close out too fast, she will go around you and if you play too far off she will make you pay from the perimeter. With her skillset, the. 2026 fiesta should be a special season for the young guard.

Conklin-Jones got better in all the subtle ways that separate good guards from better ones. Her command of pace and the ability to attack with a variety of shiftiness and hesitation was very much improved. The handles were as tight as anyone’s handles at the Expo. Conklin-Jones also showed a nice touch on the jumper, runner, and floater. The young guard displayed some nice footwork from the guard position and utilized head fakes exceptionally well. The added confidence in her overall game opened the floor for her play making. You can tell she’s been in the gym fine-tuning her overall game- she got better.
