Leila Bryant Leila Bryant 5'9" | PG Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy | 2029 State FL is the No. 1 player in Florida’s 2029 class, and if there is a player-and-team combination capable of breaking into the Open 8, it is Bryant and Holy Trinity. Bryant can do it all on the floor—shoot, pass, attack off the dribble, and control the game with her basketball IQ and overall feel. Her ability to impact the game in so many different ways gives Holy Trinity the type of difference-maker who can help push a team into that elite eight. And don’t forget, Bryant and Holy Trinity were in the state finals last season, pushing Miami Country Day to the brink. They have already shown they can compete on that stage, and with Bryant leading the way, they should be right in the Open 8 conversation.

Leila Bryant Leila Bryant 5'9" | PG Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy | 2029 State FL stood out with her ability to control the game with poise and composure. She played at her own pace, never rushed, and consistently made the right decisions with the ball in her hands.   Bryant showed the ability to handle the ball, facilitate offense, and create for teammates, all while maintaining control. She was effective getting into the paint, where she used touch on her floater and made smart reads, whether scoring or delivering passes. She was a master of the baseline drive and dish into the middle of the defense. She delivered several dimes in the paint, and they were all momentum shifters. From the perimeter, Bryant was equally as good, knocking down threes when the opportunity presented itself. She was never in a hurry, and when she shot the ball, she was fully composed, hitting nothing but nets the majority of the time.

Leila’s versatility and steady impact helped guide her team to a state runner-up finish. She proved she can influence games in every aspect.

Leila was the only player from a runner-up team to make this list, but she gave her squad the best chance to win of anyone else on the floor this weekend. It was impressive to see the growth in her game from last year’s state tournament to this year. In the semifinals, she finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists against a very talented Evangelical Christian team, helping secure a 20-point win and a trip to the title game. She got off to a slow start in the championship, but willed her team back into it with tough bucket after tough bucket in the fourth quarter. Leila finished with 17 points and 5 rebounds in the final and further cemented herself as the top 2029 prospect in the state of Florida.

Leila powered Holy Trinity in the first half with 12 points and finished with 18 overall while adding nine rebounds and six assists with a strong 2:1 assist to turnover ratio. She played with great poise and never looked overwhelmed by the moment as she helped secure the win and a spot in the state championship. Her talent is clear, and her mature approach to the game stands out, especially for a freshman.

Leila has a chance to be one of the best players to come out of her area and the state. This weekend gives her a big stage to prove it against strong competition. If she plays with physicality and stays assertive, she can give Holy Trinity a real chance to advance. Limiting turnovers and second chance opportunities will be key if she is going to lead this talented backcourt toward a state title opportunity.

Leila Bryant Leila Bryant 5'9" | PG Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy | 2029 State FL is one of the highest-ranked freshmen in the tournament — and it shows every time she steps on the floor. She plays lightyears ahead of her age. As a ninth grader entrusted with running a team, Bryant dictates the tempo with composure and confidence. She can shoot from deep, penetrate off the bounce, and consistently makes smart decisions with the ball in her hands. What stands out most is her command — she doesn’t just play, she controls the tempo. Bryant’s ability to shoulder responsibility at such a young age while maintaining efficiency and composure marks her as one of the elite young players in the entire field. The freshman averaged nearly 19 points per game and has the ability to double that output in a final four format.

Leila Bryant Leila Bryant 5'9" | PG Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy | 2029 State FL can flat out score the ball. When the clock is winding down and you need a bucket, there’s no need to call a play you can go five out and let her go get one. Her strong frame allows her to power through physical defenders and bully smaller guards, while her creativity helps her get to her spots even against quality defenders.

That ability is why she has made 82 three pointers this season, ranking 36th nationally. She also has 75 assists on the year, proving she can get her teammates involved when needed and effectively run the point guard position.

Leila debuts as the No. 1 prospect in our rankings and is already a familiar name across the Sunshine State. She plays a competitive high school schedule and will move from the P24 circuit to the Nike EYBL circuit with Essence this summer. LB’s ability to get to her spots, combined with her frame and versatility in the backcourt, sets her up to be one of the most recruited players in Florida throughout her career. This season, she is averaging 19.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. I expect her to go down as one of Brevard County’s greats alongside names like Emma Risch and Jaida Civil.

Leila Bryant Leila Bryant 5'9" | PG Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy | 2029 State FL (cover photo) plays the wing with a level of basketball IQ and composure well beyond her years. Reaching the 1,000-point milestone as a ninth grader is a reflection of more than scoring ability — it speaks to her understanding of the game. Bryant consistently makes the right play, whether it’s attacking off the catch, relocating into the open gaps in the defense, play-making when defenses collapse, or defending bigger matchups without hesitation. Her knowledge and maturity allow her to be impactful without forcing the action and letting the game come to her. She plays within the offensive flow, and scores and makes plays as the opportunities present themselves.
