Gray recently played her second season at the varsity level for 4A A.C. Flora and turned what was a big three for the Falcons into a core four. She previously ran with Palmetto Pressure during the spring and summer months of AAU basketball and now wears the Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite uniform. Gray has also previously played volleyball throughout her athletic career. Her play contributed to another winning season at the Falcons’ nest in Forest Acres as coach Jacob Thompson’s team finished 16-9 last season. Gray averaged 12.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and three steals per contest in the 24 games that she played. 

Gray is another top-tier 2030 talent from the Midlands – 4A A.C. Flora in particular. With coach Jacob Thompson having graduated a solid senior core from last season’s Falcons team, one can expect Gray to be a featured name as long as she is hooping in Forest Acres. Gray combines playmaking with a high basketball IQ and she also bolsters her team’s chances of winning with defense and rebounding. Gray is transitioning into freshman status and has already played two seasons at the high school varsity level. She played in 24 games last season and averaged 12.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and three steals per game in 2025-26. 

One of the premier eighth-grade talents in South Carolina, Gray brought plenty of magic with her to the Magic City of Florence. Monday’s matchup between 4A A.C. Flora and 5A Division 2 host West Florence was all Falcons, all the time – in part because of the 13 points put on the board by Gray. Even though Gray is listed on A.C. Flora’s roster as a point guard, Gray can display how accurate she can be from distance. The Falcons connected on six 3-pointers in the 66-27 blowout of the Knights – three were Gray’s. She also understands how to create offense with her defense and does not shy away from contact that can place her at the free throw line. 

Speaking of eighth-grade notables, Gray is making a strong case for 2030 of 2030s throughout the Palmetto State. Gray’s 4A A.C. Flora team took part in an entertaining contest against Charlotte Country Day. Even though the Buccaneers got the better of the Falcons, the 13 points Gray scored kept A.C. Flora in the contest from the opening tip to the game’s final buzzer. A reason why she is among the best eighth graders in South Carolina is her defense – Gray can come away with a multitude of steals. Over the offseason, Gray joined the Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite organization for AAU ball. She played like it on Thursday evening at Rock Hill. 

This past weekend where orange leather basketballs took up a fair amount of Gray’s schedule. The FBC Jungle event on Sunday was a day after Gray was at the North Charleston Recreation Center to take part in the SCBCA Elite Camp. Gray’s fearlessness in attacking the rim is a major attribute that has propelled her to varsity status even as she embarks on her eighth grade campaign at 4A A.C. Flora. Another is how she puts more emphasis on rebounding than many more experienced guards. Gray played in 26 contests last season for the Falcons and averaged 6.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game. 

There is a reason as to why we recently put Gray on our 2030 Watch List. Gray put together one of the signature seventh grade seasons in the state and is looking to build on that as an eighth grader at 4A A.C. Flora. Gray does not shy away from contact as she knows it can give her – and her team – opportunities at the free throw line. She also understands the importance of making the extra pass and can give a team worthwhile defense and blocking in the interior. Gray played in 26 games last season for coach Jacob Thompson’s Falcons and averaged 6.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals per contest.
