Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
A defensive anchor from the 918, Ezell has great fundamentals around the rim. Often plays with her arms straight up, while moving her feet to contest/block a load of shots. Also able to muscle up and hold ground against fellow post players. Type of player who makes life easier on her teammates by altering shots and importantly grabbing rebounds. Her strong hands allow her to snag those rebounds along with scoring in traffic on offense. A grinder in the paint, Ezell’s impact goes beyond the box score.

Ezell is powerful around the basket, and more importantly, she understands how to use her frame on both ends of the court. She rebounded strongly on the offensive and defensive sides, but her putbacks came at the right time as she finished after contact. She also did a good job defending and showed she could drop the short jumper

Strong power forward that has great sizer and good body control on the blocks. On the blocks she worked hard for the positioning before the ball was passed, giving the guards a good angle to enter the ball. Nice hard pound dribbled used to work herself between the defender and goal. Run the floor in transition with good hands on the catch for the finish. Good mid-range shooter that gives you the option for some high low action.
Tough defender that anchor downs the middle allowing guards to pressure beyond the 3-point line knowing Jazlynn is in the paint. Looking forward to following this 2027 as Lady Hornets look to return to State and push for the Gold Ball.

A physical power forward that had a very solid summer circuit for the 16u CyFair Elite Oklahoma group. A very strong lower base when in the low post that does not mind creating some contact to gain better positioning for a post move. Two very effective moves: first is the back downs with the bumps to get defender on their heals, second is working the feet before the catch for a drop step. In several games In Kansas she shot the 3 when the defender played back protecting the drive. A free throw magnet as she continued to pick up shooting fouls.
On defense she was a force in the second line of the press with great rotation for steals. Excellent rebounder that works for great positioning before the ball comes off the rim.

Soft hands and always ready to score. Quickly attacks the offensive glass, or moves to openings while off the ball with the mindset to get buckets. Good lateral movement, combined with strength, makes her a tough presence around the rim. Appears to play taller than her listed height, thanks to her athleticism and overall tenacity. Very productive spring, to set the stage for a big final two years of high school ball.

Physical interior presence, who plays big and embraces her role. Soft hands combined with good principles of keeping the ball high helps make her a good finisher at the rim. Sticks with it when it comes to offensive rebounding. Some promising footwork and counters on post ups spliced in throughout. A 918 post presence to keep an eye on for what’s expected to be a loaded Lady Hornets team in 5A.
