Silver played the two games I watched Byrnes with a high basketball IQ, good athleticism, and skill on the offensive end. Ellison handled the ball very well, with the required responsibility, without turning the ball over, contributed on the boards and the defensive end, and was a vocal leader for the Runnin’ Rebs. She could have easily forced shots that were not there or open, but she showed her experience and unselfishness getting the ball where it needed to go inside where Byrnes had the advantage.

Silver was another top-tier prospect throughout the Palmetto State to secure an in-state get as coach Lisa Jackson at Erskine extended an offer in her direction late last month. Her 5A Byrnes team was one of the toughest outs in the state last season, compiling a record of 24-4 and 11-3 in its region. Silver would compete in 26 of the Rebels’ 28 matchups in 2025-26 while averaging 12.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest. 

A marquee matchup on the eight-game slate included a potential 5A Division 1 Upper State preview between Byrnes and host J.L. Mann. Thanks to the 17 points that were placed on the scoreboard by Silver, the Rebels got the better of the Patriots on J.L. Mann’s home court in what was arguably the best matchup of the day. The Patriots’ defense had no answer for her sharpshooting heroics. Silver hit paydirt on five of her tries from behind the 3-point arc – including three in the first quarter alone. Someone with that type of accuracy can throw defenses off guard when she decides to attack the basket. Rebounding is another strong element to her game. 

After running on the grassroots circuit with Upward Stars , Silver is looking ahead to a stellar season with a Byrnes team that should be among the teams to beat among 5A Division 1 squads. Standing at 5-foot-7, Silver primarily operates as a two guard. As a two, she can make things happen with her long-range shooting accuracy, but also can drain her attempts from the midrange along with making the right passes plus getting to the rim. She took to the court on 26 occasions last season for the Rebels, averaging 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, three assists and 1.6 steals per game for a Byrnes team that finished with a record of 19-9. 

Silver stands at 5-foot-7 and primarily operates as a two guard in the backcourt. During the spring and summer months, she trades in her red, white and blue threads of 5A Division 1 Byrnes for those of Upward Stars . As a two guard, teams have to particularly pay attention to when she has the ball behind the 3-point line. She is likely to attempt – and connect on – said attempt from deep. She also will draw plenty of contact that can place her at the free throw line. Silver is an effective floor runner who finds herself at the right places at the right times to complete plays – including via attacking the basket.
