Kegel did some really good things this past weekend. She defended well and was able to get out on the break and fill lanes. Her size allows her to defend multiple positions and she was able to stretch the floor with some solid shooting. Alta will have some good guards.
Finau had the highest motor in the girls high school bracket and it wasn’t even close. She is an athlete that can get up and haul in rebounds like crazy. She had a 17 rebound performance in a game and was in double figures in rebounds in 5 games played. She was rebounding the ball and pushing the tempo all while keeping her head up and finding open players up the floor. She was defending all 5 positions and had a block running out to the three-point line and she sent the ball flying. This girl was playing with her hair on fire. She helped her team go 5-0.
Highlights
Strong PF that rebounds the ball well, Van Der Beek is solid shooting the ball at around 15 feet. Next season you can expect her to be a double-double machine. When she did take the ball off the bounce she was hard to stop because Van Der Beek is physical. She suited up for A-Train this past weekend.
Blanchard was a big time scorer off the bench as she was went crazy from deep and she also made some solid moves to the rim. Blanchard was able to get her feet set to get off a few long perimeter shots. In one game she hit 4 from deep coming off the bench. She had a great showing at the GWC.
Brown had a good showing as she can spread the floor with shooting and she is also a good passer. Her all-around game will come in handy as Maple Mountain has many players that do a little bit of everything.
