About Sophia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I feel I am a player who is willing to play wherever I am needed on the court, from point guard, to power forward. I feel I am dedicated to win and will do my part in that while also helping all my teammates get great looks and opportunities.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel I am always looking for ways to improve while also working on staying consistent. I always look to stay positive while also staying focused.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in the math meet teams and acalympics program (a competition near me about all subjects). I also participate in club volleyball and Student Council.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel I have greatly developed teamwork while playing basketball. I have learned to be proud of everyone's successes even on my bad days and to not have a bad attitude. I feel I have learned to work with those around me and do my best while also pushing and helping others do theirs..

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I feel my biggest challenge was staying positive and pushing through the bad days. I feel I lost confidence and would get worse rather than persevering and getting out of my slump. I have learned to not give up. I have learned to see things in a different perspective and mindset that truly helped me improve as a player.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a great environment and coaching staff. I am also looking for a college that supports my professional goals. I am looking for a coach and team that keeps a positive but focused environment. I am looking for a college that pushes me to be my best.
