I have to give a special S/O to [player_tooltip player_id='992558' first='Destinee' last='Sanchez'] for letting me know about this event because I was clueless yet everything worked out, and that's not why she gets the feature photo as I left with another look at what she brings to the table

[player_tooltip player_id='992558' first='Destinee' last='Sanchez'] (Brandeis) SA Lady Hoops AF1 [2027]

Sanchez is heady and understands how to control the tempo, yeah I already knew that, plus her court vision across the board was spotted the first time I saw her play. She gave me a look at how explosive she is off the dribble and her ability to go by defenders in the set was very nice, so was her body control on her finishes plus she showed the jumper and applied on the ball heat

Mikayla Garcia (SA Lady Hoops AF1) 2028

Garcia has good size and showed she could play multiple positions. She also understands positioning as that helped her rebound on both end but watching her score around the basket, outback's included was nice, so was her scoring off the dribble. Just as nice was her timing to block, alter and(or) deflect shots

Carlie Reed (Fort Worth Prep Athletics) 2026

Reed immediately grabbed my attention with her athleticism on both ends and her defensive pressure helped to create turnovers yet she attacks the basket strongly and finishes after contact with ease. Her court vision was solid, she also created her shot to drop the jumper ad her "catch and shoot" from deep was also nice

[player_tooltip player_id='880842' first='Afreen' last='Haq'] (Fort Worth Prep Athletics) 2025

Has used her frame around the basket, on both ends, nicely. She not only rebounded but showed she could handle the ball afterward and go coast to coast. She also did something I love to see, play the passing lane yet her scoring inside the paint was nice, but even nicer was her "catch and shoot" 3 down the stretch to help seal the victory

Alexandria Gonzales (RGV Venom)

Gonzales did a good job hitting the boards on both ends of the court, scoring on cutbacks as well as inside the paint yet she also went coast to coast to score or dish. Her court vision across the board was nice, and so was her defense in the set as well as in the full court. She scored off the dribble, gave me the FLOATA and dropped it from outside

Arissa Garcia (RGV Venom)

Garcia does a good job of getting the defender off balance, part of that is because of her deceptive first step, another part is the slight HEZ to catch whoever is guarding her leaning. Her court vision as well as directing traffic was among the best on Saturday and her defense was solid

Jordan Sanchez (Brandeis) DBA [2027]

Sanchez gets the #THROWBACK hashtag because of the way she BATTLED for everything off the rim, on both ends. I love things you can't teach and DESIRE is one of them yet she also scored around the basket, yep, outback's included yet don't get it twisted as her jumper looked good, including the "catch and shoot" from deep

[player_tooltip player_id='912448' first='Ava' last='Inesta-Rodriguez'] (Brandeis) DBA [2027]

Inesta-Rodriguez falls into that #sizedontmatter group I love to hashtag ad her "on the ball" pressure was really nice as it not only created havoc but turnovers as well. She also played the passing lane and saw the floor not only in transition, but in the set as well. She scored off the dribble and was another of many from the event who dropped the 3, ala "catch and shoot"
