Herrick caught my attention early like her teammate Dobson watching Tennessee United play at the She Got Game the first tournament of the season. I saw a blur come from the elbow and then a player take off and sky for a rebound on the opposite side of the rim. Herrick showed tremendous leaping ability on that play and good athleticism throughout the game slashing and cutting on offense and getting up in the ball handlers’ space as well as passing lanes on defense. She played almost 25 minutes a game for state champion Creekview. Herrick can also really shoot the ball from deep. She is the kind of player every coach wants on their team, including her dad who she plays for at Creekview.

The sophomore stat sheet stuffer did just that in a 56-42 win over Heritage-Catoosa, piling in 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 steals and 1 block. Herrick sank a pair of corner threes, a mid-range pull-up and scored in transition. She is a highly active guard with versatility to play multiple positions along the perimeter. Kylee has aggressive, quick instincts to blow up plays on defense and is well-rounded offensively with the size to finish around the rim along with the shooting touch to space the floor.

Herrick’s versatility was on display in a blow out win, drawing the assignment of having to guard the post while at a size disadvantage. Kylee battles inside mixing it up with her physicality. Offensively, she showed concentration as she scored through contact for a pair of And-1s. Herrick uses both hands around the rim and is a dangerous three-point shooter off the catch. Kylee collected 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

Kylee took full advantage of a shorthanded St. Pius X, and relentlessly attacked on both ends of the floor. She swarmed ball handlers to force turnovers and was quick to finish fastbreaks with layups. Herrick showcased firepower from beyond the arc hitting a pair of threes. All in all, Kylee looked comfortable and confidence as she poured in 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
