I made my first trip ever out to Mount Saint Mary's campus for their annual Elite Camp and I came away impressed with a few prospects. Here are some of the players I'll be watching next season for different reasons, but all of them can hoop.

Berlynn Carlson, Mountainside High (OR), 2025, Shooting Guard

Berlynn's rebounding is what initially caught my eye as she cleared everything she was close to. At 6'3" she looks more like a post player, but once I locked in I saw everything she brings to the court. After she secured the boards she was off and running, pushing the ball and looking for teammates to set up. She showed off her full package, shooting from deep and finishing around the basket. She has committed to Mt. Saint Mary's and will be a great addition.

[player_tooltip player_id='946898' first='Jordan' last='Carey'], St. Vincent Pallotti, 2028, Wing

5'9" wing/guard that attacked the basket aggressively all day. She showed good strength and explosiveness on her finishes, and she was able to make shots with both hands. She brought good energy on defense and kept her motor running on high all day. I'll be following her during the high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id='569085' first='Aliza' last='Murray'], Virginia Academy, 2026, Point Guard

Pass first point guard with a strong IQ and accurate passing ability. She ran the pick and roll effectively and shot the ball efficiently. She is a good ball handler with a nice mid-range game and knows when to pick her spots and start scoring. She showed a strong command of the position and has multiple D1 offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='786440' first='Janey' last='Salinas'], Osbourn Park, 2027, Wing

Another great showing from one of the top prospects in the 2027 class. She came in and played like a boss from the jump. She has excellent size, great ball handling skills and a ton of confidence in her shot making ability. She's very versatile and athletic and keeps constant pressure on defenses with her deep range and explosive moves to the basket.

Laila Robinson, Garrison Forest, 2027, Wing

Laila caught my eye with her length and wingspan. She ran the floor hard, fought through screens and was able to track smaller players on switches. I didn't see her get a lot of opportunities on offense but I like her defensive versatility and high motor. I'll definitely have to check her out during the season.
