Serenity is a talented point guard prospect who has always stood out. I believe I first saw her playing school ball in about 7th Grade. She has had this smoothness about her game where it looks like she’s just gliding around the floor. She can handle it, she has good vision, and she understands how to break down a defender to put pressure on the defense and find open teammates. Defensively, she can also be a problem when she plays with urgency at that end of the floor. She is good on the ball or coming over from the “help” side. She will definitely help the Bearcats this year.

Serenity transferred into Lapl this past season, and now she’s looking at taking on a much bigger leadership role. She has always been a really nice athlete in all directions, she is a playmaker off the bounce, plus she has the strength to play through contact. She isn’t intimidated by pressure, giving a calming presence to teammates. While she has done a nice job of balancing scoring with distributing in the past, the graduation of Laniah Wills will likely force her into a bigger scoring role for the Bulldogs. At the same time, she could become a high-level on-ball defender and create offense that way.

I’ve been watching Serenity since about 7th Grade, and she’s one of those prospects who just steadily improves from year to year. She is a really nice, balanced athlete, she moves well in most directions, plus she has gotten stronger and does a really nice job of keeping her balance and absorbing contact upon attack. She plays with her head up, searches for teammates, but she can get downhill and score it herself. She is a solid defender but could be elite at that end, once she plays with just a bit more urgency. All in all, I look for her to be a highly sought after, elite small college recruit in a year or so.

To me, I feel like Serenity is an intriguing ball of clay. She is a really nice athlete, she has noticeable skill and ability, but I also feel like she has a high ceiling she can get to with a little more discipline. She makes a lot of plays off of ability and feel, and that’s outstanding. But she could also play at different speeds a little better. She has the athletic tools to where she could be more explosive at times, both offensively and defensively, but she also has times where she plays fast and could use a change-of-pace dribble/move to get through traffic. I really enjoy her potential, though.

Serenity is a nonstop ball of energy, with speed and quickness, bounce, plus nice length at her height. Not only does she push the ball up the floor with pace, but she also understands how to change speeds, change directions, and slice through gaps in the defense. She will need to eventually get stronger to absorb contact through the lane, but she is going to be a problem immediately for opponents on the LCA schedule. I also enjoyed her feistiness on defense.
