Prospect Spotlight: Hallie Vaughn (2020)

<span style="font-weight: 400">A two-sport standout, Colby senior Hallie Vaughn is gearing up for what she hopes is a big senior season after a strong offseason running with Ohlde Elite.</span> <span style="font-weight: 400">A strong outside hitter on the volleyball court, the 5’6 Vaughn is a strong guard who plays an aggressive style of defense, likes to run the floor and excels in transition. She has a quick outside shooting stroke and can score from behind the 3-point arc.</span> <span style="font-weight: 400">A starter since her freshman season, Vaughn brings versatility to the court and can play the 1,2  or 3 spots. As a junior she averaged 14.5 points per game, 3 steals per game and shot 70 percent from the free throw line. The Lady Eagles received third in the Topside Tip-off where she received all tournament team. She was also first-team All-GWAC.</span> <span style="font-weight: 400">Vaughn spent the offseason playing for Ohlde Elite and got an opportunity to play against high level players from around the world. </span> <span style="font-weight: 400">“It has helped me in all aspects of my game and I’m excited to bring everything to my game and team this upcoming season,” she says. “I have really been working on my attack game and many new moves to get to the rim.”</span> <span style="font-weight: 400">Vaughn says the biggest influence in her basketball career to date have been her parents.</span> <span style="font-weight: 400">“I have been traveling around playing basketball since the first grade and they have took me all around the world,” she said. “They are my biggest fans and have never missed a single game, one of them has either watched me or my siblings. My high school coach has also impacted my game tremendously. He has taught me so many great things in basketball and life.”</span> <span style="font-weight: 400">Also a standout volleyball player, Vaughn says she has mostly drawn college interest in that sport. She currently holds an offer from Garden City and has been talking with coaches from Hutchinson, Kansas Wesleyan and Fort Hays but has not yet drawn an offer for basketball.</span> &nbsp;
