
Alicia Scoggin | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Alicia is a native to Portland, Oregon. She grew up playing basketball and attended many camps and clinics with Professional NBA athletes. Her favorites were Clyde Drexler, Larry Steele and Kareem Abdul Jabar. If you ask Alicia who the greatest of all time is? She will without hesitation tell you Michael Jordan. Her most fond childhood memories took place at the University of Portland, where she frequently attended the pilots camps every summer. She has always had a lot of passion for the game and the opportunities it can bring. She played for her local schools and AAU youth leagues. She attended Franklin High School and played varsity basketball. Alicia has always valued her community and helping others. She is a proud graduate from the University of Oregon where she played and coached intramural basketball, as well as, rugby for the Ducks. Throughout her professional career, Alicia has worn many hats. She has been a coach, teacher, nanny, peer educator, event producer, deejay, athletic trainer, sales manager and shoe dealer to name a few. There’s one thing for sure when it comes to Alicia, she is an entrepreneur and loves to try new things. She isn’t afraid to take risks or take on new challenges. In her most recent coaching careers, she has found her most successful times working with youth athletes for NBA camps. She has worked with the Portland Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons. The Golden State Warriors, Johnathan Kuminga. The Sacramento Kings, Domantas Sabonis. Her most recent camp was in the beautiful city of Orlando, working with the Magic’s Paolo Banchero. Coaching basketball, player development and community outreach are what Alicia thrives in. Her goal is to help as many young athletes and families as she can. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys spending time with her family, friends and animals. Listening to music, cooking yummy foods and exploring beaches are some of her most favorite things. Alicia intends on bringing her passion and knowledge for the game of basketball to her Prep Hoops role as a scout reporter. She looks forward to contributing to her community and the state of Oregon youth basketball in positive ways.
