J. E. Dawson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Currently residing in the Charlotte, NC area, I was born and raised in Hillside, NJ to the son of a basketball coach. I grew up in the gym, going to basketball practice, playing basketball and reading my dad's playbook and going over player stats. Upon moving to Charlotte North Carolina nearly 20 years ago, I quickly realized that my size and stature was more suited to play football, which led me to find my next passion of playing football for the next 4 years and being the starting Left Tackle for Waddell High School where we won the 2002 Southwestern 4A Conference Championship.
After graduating from North Carolina Central University with a degree in Mass Communications, I worked for then Charlotte Bobcats (now Charlotte Hornets) in the media department interviewing players in the visiting team locker room.
Being a former NCHSAA athlete, it is an honor to be able to join the Prep Girls Hoops team and help promote all the great student athletes that this state has to offer.
