Aaliyah Story Aaliyah Story 6'3" | SF David Crockett | 2026 State TN had one of the best defensive games of the entire state tournament.
In round one against Dyersburg High School, Story was defending the rim at an ultra-high level. She recorded one steal and also had a game-high four blocks.
The University of Chattanooga commit standing at 6’3″, experience shined through while on the floor in Murfreesboro. She moves well on defense and is also very under control. These skill sets help Story navigate pick and rolls better than most people her height. Story’s strength in blocking and contesting shots comes mostly from her being able to time attempts and her above-average movement at her size.

This young lady is heading to UTC next fall. The Lady Mocs are getting a talented kid who can exploit a defense from multiple spots on the floor. From posting up to stretching the floor, she can score the basketball in many ways. Her game doesn’t stop on the offensive end as she has an enormous wingspan that enables her to block shots, contribute on the boards, and makes it hard for opponents to operate. She is a solid player who will have a sensational senior season.

Versatile big that can do it from both inside and out. She can shoot the 3-ball at a high clip, but if she needs to drive to get a bucket or post up around the blocks, she can do that too. Her length poses a threat as she can block shots and deflect passes. She’s big on the boards as well, eliminating second-change opportunities for teams. She plays the game with a ton of energy, and when she is on the floor, good things tend to happen. She is a 3-level scoring threat that college coaches should out on their radars. This girl is tough and will be a problem for years to come.

Transformed. Evolved. This kid can play along the arc, but also get it done around the blocks. Her size poses a threat to most clubs because she can see over the top of defenders. When she gets into her bag and looks to exploit, she can do so by being physical. Her handles have gotten better, enabling her to utilize a quick first step to get downhill. This kid has made strides this past season, and her trajectory arrow is pointing up. Look for her to continue to be in beast mode and land somewhere solid this upcoming season.

Talented big who plays with a motor on her. She can stretch the floor and attack from the perimeter, unleashing a nice face up game to go along with her ball handling ability. She’s heavy on the boards on both ends, offensively getting putbacks, defensively, starting transition breaks. She runs the floor well, getting easy layup opportunities. She blocks shots, gets steals, just very active. A solid kid who is on an upwards trajectory.

I’m not sure that any player has improved more than Story over the past year. She’s gone from a 6’3 athlete that plays basketball, to a basketball player that happens to both be 6’3 and athletic. She’s developed legit touch around the rim, and when she catches deep, she’s either scoring or shooting free throws. She’s looked comfortable this summer playing facing the rim, and has become a matchup nightmare. Bigs can’t stay in front of her, and littles are too small. Pick your poison.
Her shooting has taken nice strides, but her free throw percentage is still a bit low. Her mechanics look good, and it might just be a matter of reps. She’s beginning to step out and shoot the three a bit, and that will eventually be her ceiling. If she can become a consistent shooter, she’ll hit another level.

I’m not sure that any player in the state is improving at a rate as quickly as Aaliyah Story Aaliyah Story 6'3" | SF David Crockett | 2026 State TN . The 6’3 wing turned into a monster this year! She averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2.5 blocks (she was amongst the leading shot blockers in the state). She’s always been a kid that could simply rely on her athleticism to be pretty darn good, now her athleticism is mixing with high level skill to make her ELITE. She’s going to be a big time D1 kid before her career is done.

One of the most athletically gifted kids in the state, as proven by her recent long jump state champ and high jump state runner up.
She just received 2 D1 offers, and is playing exceptional basketball this spring- Coach Vann just posted a video of her grabbing and hanging on the rim! Great shot blocker can take it rim to rim. As turned into an ELITE finisher.

This one may surprise a few! Story continues to turn heads! Even though she doesn’t “play up”, she could! She recently picked up her first D1 offer from Morehead State. In my opinion, this is the first of many! Story has an amazing vertical that she continues to show off! The reigning defensive player of the year proves exactly why she owns that title every time she steps on the court. She’s good at blocking and altering shots! She uses her length incredibly well, and she finishes around the rim great! A true versatile athlete. Aaliyah is a young star with tremendous upside!
