Abby took a different approach this offseason, opting not to play travel basketball this summer. This decision isn’t a bad thing in my eyes. While many players spend their spring and summer traveling the country, there is also value in staying local, focusing on skill development, and avoiding the grind of burnout. As she returns to her high school team, Abby will once again be tasked with a major role, leading all returning players on her roster in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks per game. With her upperclassmen years beginning, she’ll be expected to take on even more leadership responsibilities while continuing to produce at a high level. I’m excited to see what she’s added to her game during the summer and how that development shows up in the summer league at Keswick this month.

A skilled scorer, she also showcases great court awareness, positioning herself well on defense to create steals. Her vision and passing ability make her a strong facilitator, setting up teammates for success. Fischer’s all-around game continues to grow, and she remains a crucial piece in her team’s success.
