Lee put a show on display this Winter in the State tournament. She handled her own in the middle, stepped out when she needed to, and she demonstrated that she understands how to play her spot at a higher mental level than most her age. If the Charges can really get Lee to lock in on how efficient she could be, who knows how far she could take things at the next level. Bishop Heelan is going to be competing for a State Title, or close to it, once again this season. If things click at the right time, watch out. It could be dangerous to everyone else in their path with the type of roster they possess.

This game was an interesting one for Abby Lee Abby Lee 6'0" | C Bishop Heelan Catholic | 2025 State IA . I’ve always seen Lee dominate the paint and handle what she could on the inside. She also always has had the ability to step out and knock down a long jumper but yesterday she was shooting a lot of three’s. I would personally like to see Lee control the paint more-so, then move to the outside throughout a contest to always keep the defense guessing. At the end of this game specifically, Lee had some solid numbers and played a respectable game, along with the rest of her team, but they fell just short and it makes me wonder. If they controlled the paint more, would the outcome have been different? This maybe a question we find out the answer too down the line, later this season but for right now, who knows.

Bishop Heelan will return multiple college level prospects this Winter to the Varsity floor and it’s going to be excited to see what they can put together as the season unfolds. We have mentioned Lee a handful of times this past six months because she has been receiving a lot of interest from the collegiate level, ever since her State performances earlier in 2024. That State stage was one in which Lee showed out to everyone that was watching and she is going to build on that for one more go around during her Senior season. If she plays well in the middle, everything else is going to open up for the Crusaders and that’s when they will become a very tough team to beat.

Lee is a 6’0 Center, that competes with physical play, calculated aggression, and superior knowledge of the game than most her age. Every team that she happens to compete with, understands her abilities and what she does best. This helps them get her the ball in the correct spots on the floor, giving her the best shot to make a play for her team. I think this same ability is going to help Lee at the next level, when she eventually gets there following this season. The way she can adapt with her size but also be dominant at times is noteworthy and I’m hoping we see it each contest she competes in this Winter with her Crusaders program.

I’ve said it once and I’ll continue to say it until this high school Varsity season comes to a close. Lee comes into this as the #27 Center out of the 2025 Class in Iowa with some room to continue to grow and move up these rankings before you know it. Last year at State, she put on a show for everyone watching, demonstrating that she was a real deal prospect to consider. Since then, she has worked relentlessly in the off-season and put together a nice Spring/Summer AAU campaign with her Sanford Sport Academy team out of South Dakota. Last week she was offered by both Dakota State and Northwestern College (IA). These are two awesome offers to add to the rest she currently possesses.

The only prospects in this article that is still uncommitted but with a ton of interest right now is Abby Lee Abby Lee 6'0" | C Bishop Heelan Catholic | 2025 State IA of Bishop Heelan High School. Lee is someone that really took the state by storm last Varsity season. She was the anchor for her BH team and she is going to be in charge of doing the same thing this upcoming year. Lee is a force down-low with her determination and physical play style. She is good enough to score going through the chest of an opponent or she can slide around them for an easier bucket on either side of the basket. This July is an important month for everyone competing and I’m sure that Lee is going to make the most of her opportunities before she chooses a place to compete at the next level this Fall. If she handles her business and rides that momentum into the high school season, she is going to kill it this next two months as it pertains to this sport.

This Winter, I’m expecting a lot of the same now that they have added on a top prospect like Trishelle Miller Trishelle Miller 5'10" | CG Bishop Heelan Catholic | 2026 State IA . Lee is a physical Forward/Center, that is really skilled in the paint. She understands how to dominate her personal matchups at a solid rate and she had that on full display last year. This AAU season Lee has been holding her own at that same rate with her Sanford Sports Academy team out of SD. If she continues on this pace, she will have 5-7 offers this Winter. Giving her some different options at the end of the day.
