Jernigan has been receiving national attention in high school career, and we are excited to see what she does continuing her education at North Carolina State.  She’s very athletic and efficient with her shot selection.  She’s patient assessing what the defense gives her to find the opening and put up her shot.  She does well timing her cuts making sure she can get to the opening to score her points, and she is sure to show off some handles to get to the rim as well.

Adelaide Jernigan Adelaide Jernigan 5'10" | CG Bishop McGuinness | 2025 State NC attracts so much attention when she’s on the court having people trying to guard her.  She showed a lot of versatility being able to post up and get the entry pass, and she knocked down her shot from deep with ease.  The lefty showed off her range shooting the ball, and she used some nice shot fakes to get to the paint and pull up for a jumper.

She is draining shots in transition, she is scoring from the field, knocking down threes, and getting to the foul line for the Villians as well. Her squad is currently undefeated and Jernigan is leading the way. She is a North Carolina State commit.

Wes Moore, head coach at NC State has done it again. Jernigan has been heralded as one of the premier shooters in the nation and she will bring her top-tier long range prowess to the Wolfpack next season. Last season, she averaged 19 points and 3.6 rebounds for a Villains team that concluded the 2023-24 campaign with a 25-5 record in addition to going perfect 12-0 against conference opponents. It was in the AAU realm where she wore the uniform of Winston-Salem Stealers . Her high school career has included claiming a 1A state championship with Bishop McGuinness at the end of the 2022-23 season. That victory over Chatham Charter took place on the very same NC State court where she will call home for four years.

Jernigan is next-level. She has the skills, the competitive fire, and the athletic ability to be an elite player by the end of her basketball career. Jernigan can score in the open court with a smooth finish at the rim. She can pull up in the paint and drain a jumper. Or Jernigan can drain three after three in any game. She has recently narrowed her recruiting list to NC State, Kentucky, and Michigan.

Jernigan is a big guard with fantastic athletic ability and a sweet skill set. She can shoot the basketball from anywhere on the court. She has deep three-point range and can create space for her jump shot with a variety or moves and fakes. She can also drive hard to the rim and drain a floater or finish a power lay-up at the rim. Jernigan is an elite talent on the court who continues to improve on the basketball floor. As good as she is currently, Jernigan’s best basketball is ahead of her.

She has a pretty outside shot and the quickness to get past her defender to score in the paint. Jernigan has a fantastic feel for the game. She can create space for her jump shot and drain multiple outside shots every game for the Winston-Salem Stealers . Jernigan’s step-back is nearly impossible for the opposition to defend. She is a fierce competitor on the court who gives all she has on both offensive and defense.
