Chuma received the “trifecta” from me and my PGH colleagues at fresshman showcase and I was fortunate enough to catch her a little bit later at the Jerimiah Green Invitational see evaluations here and I’ve mentioned over and over that I enjoy seeing players in different settings. She understands how to set the defender up to score off the dribble, her stop and pop in transition looks good and her “on the ball” pressure is another plus

Chuma received the “trifecta” from all of the evaluators at the PGH Freshman Showcase see evaluations here, and she didn’t let up at the event. Her “on the ball” pressure baseline-to-baseline looked even better, as did her court vision, especially in transition. Her body control after contact is setting the stage for her being in that “and one” waiting to happen group

Quick first step allows her to beat defenders off the bounce and attack gaps before they close. Has a knack for finding cracks in the defense and turning them into scoring opportunities. Puts points on the board in a hurry when she gets downhill.

Chuma punched her ticket after an impressive performance and falls into my #talentiseverywhere, providing you know what you’re looking at. Her first step was among the best at the event, as was her body control after contact, but she gave me the HEZ, to attack and finish as well. She has UPS and showed the ability to rebound or elevate on her jumper; her defense was solid, and she played the passing lane

Akachukwu Chuma Akachukwu Chuma 5'10" State TX displayed an impressive combination of slashing ability, physical dominance, and sheer resolve throughout the event. She is tough and can flat-out hoop, proving to be an absolute matchup nightmare when attacking the defense directly and consistently absorbing contact to finish strong at the rim. Beyond her primary scoring instincts, Chuma used her aggression to track down live balls, secure critical offensive rebounds, and immediately convert them into second-chance putbacks. Defensively, she brought great energy and held her own against multiple defenders. She was an incredibly fun player to watch, and based on her 5-on-5 performance, she will be an impactful asset to her high school team.
