Akiyah is a player I’ve watched closely over the years, and she’s always been a joy to see on the court. She led Bryan Station with 15.5 points per game last season and earned All-City Second Team honors. Akiyah plays with passion and energy, she’s a streaky shooter from deep but truly excels at getting to the rim. She makes strong, aggressive takes and has a knack for drawing contact, often finishing through it or earning trips to the free-throw line. A big senior season looks to be on the horizon for her.

Bryan Station has been steadily improving in recent seasons and Wade is ready for a big season. The top returning scorer for Station, I expect Akiyah to see a boost in her scoring numbers. What doesn’t get talked about enough with Wade is the amount of “other” things she does well and helps her team to win.

Akiyah brought her “A” game to the Kentucky Expo. She was on fire in the second 5-on-5 game and scored her teams first 11 points. She was able to get a bucket in every which way and looked like she was having fun doing it. She is in for a big junior season at Bryan Station. (Featured Image)

Wade continues to make great strides and is developing into a very good two-way guard. Wade can play on-ball or off the ball and be effective; she can attack off the bounce and is a solid perimeter shooter that can make 3’s and mid-range jumpers when she gets a good look. She is aggressive on defense and does a good job playing passing lanes and using active hands to force turnovers. I also like the way she runs the floor and always makes herself available to score in transition.
