The La Crosse native has helped her Central team reach new heights this season when she’s been on the floor. A recent injury has kept her off the floor, and her team has felt that loss. Simpson is one of the more challenging players to defend because of her length, athleticism, and skill. Her ability to create at her size makes her a mismatch in almost any game she plays at the high school level. She has also continued to improve her game and found ways to excel offensively, even with teams allocating significant defensive resources her way. Simpson will continue her playing career in the Ohio Valley Conference at Eastern Illinois University.

The La Crosse Central wing has been among the highest-usage kids in the state for a few years. Her ability to create off the dribble and shoot it anywhere on the floor gives her a chance to score whenever she touches the ball. Simpson is an excellent athlete who’s improved in the mental side of the game and has improved her shot quality, selection, and vision to get her teammates open looks. I’m a massive fan of what she brings to the floor.

Whenever I see the La Crosse native, I feel like she’s so close to turning a corner. The 6’0 wing has all the tools coaches look for in wings. She’s a rangey kid who can attack off the dribble, has plenty of athleticism, and makes some eye-popping plays on the defensive end of the floor. Whenever everything comes together for her, she’ll be one of the most productive kids at the next level in this class.

Over time, I’ve become a believer in Simpson. There are still some inconsistent games from her, but I’ll chalk that up to the role she has to play for La Crosse Central. Her physical tools are undeniable. She’s long, mobile, creates off the dribble and can defend multiple positions. There are plenty of traits to like about her game, and she’ll be a valuable piece to a program at the next level.
