When speaking about Alaina Dreckmeier and you say don’t let her get hot, it means something different than most others in this article. It means that you can let AD get going in ANY facet of the game or else she is going to run over you like a freight train. Not literally, but metaphorically. She is very good at stacking on her success once she things going her way on either end of the floor. Most of the time it starts slow but then you notice she has 10 steals, 7 assists, and 11 rebounds by half time. From there, she just keeps on stacking until it’s too much for the opponent to handle. This AAU season will be a good one for AD. She plays out of the city of Chicago so you know that she is getting some solid work in as she practices to get better in her off-time.

got it done from everywhere on the floor in North Scott’s upset of higher-ranked Bettendorf. Finishing the game with an eye-popping 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, the sophomore point guard performed at a super high level while only turning the ball over once — that’s impressive stuff. Included in Dreckmeier’s stat line was four drained triples — she can shoot it from deep (like, volleyball line deep), and flashed a quick jab step to free herself up for a quick release. Dreckmeier is averaging 16PPG on a surging North Scott squad and is definitely a player to watch in the Mississippi Athletic Conference.

make game winning shots from deep. We have seen her earn her playing time within her new program this season because of her smart decision making and defensive stature. While we have also seen her ability to create and produce off of the basketball as a slasher, screener, or shooter from all around the hardwood. The key to being a great player is being able to produce without the ball in your possession so this is vital. I know there is some D2 interest around Dreckmeier. If she continues to compete at a high level, I’m sure that interest will continue to grow over-time but she is putting up a solid season so far.

playing out of the East side of the state, we don’t see her too often out in the Iowa City or DSM areas but she is a hooper she has a good feel for the game with some promising ability looking forward. Dreckmeier has already hit a step back three point game winner this season to start the Winter and she hasn’t slowed down since. Whenever you see her competing, she is leaving it all on the floor and playing some really meaningful ball. Where she really has stood out in the past is on the defensive end. During AAU season, Dreckmeier has had multiple contests with 10 Steals showings. All of this ability on both sides of the floor is going to help Dreckmeier get a shot at the next level at the end of the day. I’m not sure to where exactly but she should have some options before you know it.

to show the state what she can really do with the ball in her possession. When Dreckmeier has played against skilled individuals in the past on the road, she has held her own and done really well. I had the chance to see Dreckmeier this off-season in Chicago and in that contest she had to have 20 points, 10 steals, a few assists, and a couple rebounds in total. She shined as her UAA team’s best prospect in that game so I know she is capable of putting up some stupid numbers over the next three years. She just needs to be put in the position to succeed and the rest will be history.

Davenport North High School is going to pass the torch in a lot of ways this upcoming season and looking into the foreseeable future. They will have a new coaching staff and they lose their two main producers in years past due to graduation so there will be ample opportunity to step up. Someone who should kill it within those opportunities is PG –

. I’ve seen Dreckmeier for a few years now. When she is motivated with a clear goal in mind, she can be really good against some talented opponents. I’m expecting this to be a breakout season for the Sophomore PG. She should possess the ball a majority of the time and if others can produce around her, this Wildcat’s team should put together some nice wins before you know it. Sometimes this type of pressure can get to some but I don’t think that happens with Dreckmeier. She is hard nosed and that will help her lead before you know it.

Alaina has that quiet personality, but her play on the court is far from that. She has some shake to her game, that allows her to get to her spots quicker than most. From the outside, she’s absolute threat. Looking forward to her progress over the next couple of years.

I am very curious where

is going to find her niche within the Davenport North program. If she can find it early on in her career, she is sure to be set up for success down the line when their main upperclassmen producers leave due to graduation. Dreckmeier is coming off of an AAU season in which she played up an age level with her UAA program out of Chicago and she is sure to build on that this Winter. She has a natural ability on both ends of the floor, while being someone with great instincts for her age. At this point, it’s all about progression to decide what her future might hold but as of right now, she is definitely a Top Prospect to be considered out of this 2028 Class.

is a prospect out of the 2028 Class and she will be taking her talents to Davenport North to start her high school basketball career. This is someone that I had to note in this article, even though she isn’t necessarily transferring from somewhere else, she was going to attend North Scott but a year of experience with two nationally ranked players like

was too good of an opportunity to pass up. When you add Dreckmeier to the Varsity group for the Wildcats, you start to question who is going to have good enough players to beat them throughout a whole contest. The biggest factor will come on the defensive side but if they play to their full capabilities staying in front of the ball, they should be a team to beat out of their Class this upcoming season.

but I would be lying to myself to say that she isn’t in this conversation from what I’ve seen so far over the past few months. Dreckmeier is someone that is competing up a grade level out of Chicago for her AAU season and she is holding her own while starting for her 15U team. She is a guard that has quick reactions on both sides of the ball, she can get to the rim for easy looks off of the bounce, she can knock down shots on rotation, and she doesn’t force action when it’s not there. Defensively, she can recover to open space in a hurry and she comes from help side to step in if her teammates ever get beaten off the dribble. If she continues to grow her game, she is going to be someone we hear about quite often out of this 2028 Class moving forward, no matter her specific ranking at the end of the day.
