Alana does a good job recognizing when defenders are overplaying her and immediately attacking the space to get all the way to the rim. She put together a productive AAU season and will look to carry that momentum into her upcoming junior season. Alana is also a good three-point shooter who has the range to knock down shots from the college three-point line.

McNamara is an incredibly effective tone setting forward that puts major pressure on the defense with drives. She forces the defense to collapse with minimal effort. Alana is a pretty solid defender herself too; she uses her frame to shield players off while also being physical by checking cutters. This is a prospect that’s hard to ignore in ’28.

Alana has been proving she’s a walking mismatch. Especially lately, McNamara has shown she can be a go-to option downlow or a secondary creator on the wing. She works hard plus she’s got some counters when equally matched with physicality. Alana is steadily improving and she has the influence to keep her squad in any game. For this reason, Alana is likely climbing the ranks this summer.

Alana’s strong frame makes her extremely difficult to pressure, especially when bringing the ball up the court. She uses that strength effectively around the basket, operating well with her back to the rim in the post. She also fights hard on the offensive glass to create second-chance opportunities. In addition, she has a solid mid-range shot and does a great job recognizing when she’s open and confidently taking the shot.

McNamara makes it easy to include her in these types of discussions. An unquestionably large factor for ABWHS this season. Alana’s steadiness and useability give plenty of situational advantages for the squad. The ’28 forward is likely to climb the ranks for what’s she’s been able to do.

It’s been clear that Alana is someone who’s been dedicated in improving her craft. Her hardworking efforts and natural instincts were at the forefront of her game, but now there’s some other areas of her game that’ve grown tremendously. She’s still a great rebounder and continues to have a soft touch. However, it’s her level of efficiency plus the patience she possesses that’s helped raise her level of play. McNamara doesn’t shy away from contact and when considering how well she finishes at the rim, it’s getting increasingly hard to stop her. Alana is starting to play like a seasoned vet and she’s only a sophomore. In her last game vs Canton, she put up 23 pts, 11 reb, 4 ast, while being 90% from the field as well as knocking down 5-6 from the ft line. This is a serious name within the ’28 class.

Alana turned in a strong performance against St. Mary’s, finishing with 13 points and 12 rebounds. She plays a tough, physical style and consistently makes smart decisions on the floor. Around the basket, she does a great job backing down defenders and using her strength to score, while also excelling in the dunker spot by moving to open areas for short mid-range looks. She establishes excellent post position, sealing defenders and creating easy scoring opportunities once teammates get her the ball.

Alana is a fantastic forward talent who cleans up the glass well, finishes through contact, has a couple go-to moves in the post and is a reliable defender as well. She’s a prominent figure from close to midrange that’s been mentioned many times for a reason. McNamara is due for a major year this upcoming season.
