Nelton is coming off a strong sophomore year and a solid spring and summer season. Most of her impact comes from her ability to score at her own pace and avoid being rushed outside her comfort zone. However, to take that next leap, her athleticism and speed will need to improve a bit. She doesn’t need to be the fastest on the court, but being able to get to the rim in a couple of dribbles if she’s run off the perimeter will open up a ton for her game as she gets older. She already shows the ability to score around the rim, with some craftiness to her game as well. Focusing on that part of her skill set will only benefit her as a player overall.

Nelton can play this game at a strong level. The simplicity of her skill set and the consistency with which she impacts the game are key as well. Offensively, she is not one to be left open. It’s a clean, fluid shot, with no hesitation, but can also attack the rim without second thought. On the opposite end, she has quick hands that match well with her ability to make quick reads and decisions. Overall, she has everything in her repertoire that can make her a standout in this class. High upside.

Nelton, the 5’9 sophomore is an exciting prospect for a young IVC team. She can score at all 3 levels on offense and isn’t easy to stop. Nelton is a high level shooter that will only keep improving. College coaches will want to keep their eyes on her over the next two years.
