Expert Analysis
Byron Xerxes Livsey | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
The progress in the skill set is showing for Foster, and whether it’s a boost in confidence, hours in the gym, or a great mix of both, she has truly improved. She has the length, the ball handling, and the ability to score from multiple levels. She can also swap between the point guard and wing positions if needed. If the impact remains at a strong level against tougher competition and high level prospects, there’s no doubt coaches should continue to show even more interest.

was one of the most consistent and productive performers at the Windmill City Shootout, stuffing the stat sheet with 18 PPG, 13 RPG, and 3 BPG. In addition to averaging a double-double over the weekend, she rarely turned the ball over, averaging only 1.5 turnovers per game. The 6’0 combo guard displayed her versatility, jumping in front of smaller players for rebounds and running the length of the court on fast breaks. She showed a fearless mentality by attacking defenders head-on when driving to the rim. Her scoring, toughness, and ability to take care of the basketball make her both a reliable and exciting player to watch.

Foster has been a player who has flown under the radar simply due to her location. Skill wise wise she can for sure compete with some of the best big guards in the state. She has the length, the confidence to shoot from the outside, as well as the playmaking ability to make her a versatile piece that can help programs win.

Plays the game at her own speed and never seems in a rush. The length allows her to score without needing a ton of dribbles, and from the outside, she is all confidence and will let it go with no hesitation. A top 50 prospect in her class for sure. Should see some offers fall her way if the level she’s playing at remains consistent.

She’s a player who can legitimately be effective in all aspects of the game. In my opinion, she’s at her best when she’s in the fast break, you get to see her athleticism, her vision, and the aggression. A major leap is coming in our prospect rankings.

Rianna Foster of Illinois Valley Warriors made the switch this AAU season to a new program and it seems to be paying off. Foster is a 6’0 SG with a ton of potential in this sport. With her height, she can handle it, score it, rebound it, and defend it. All things that collegiate coaches love to see. More times than not, Foster is rebounding the ball defensively after a solid possession and taking it all the way down the floor for a finish on the other end, coast-to-coast. When you see that happen live, it’s noteworthy and pretty special. Foster is still young in her career but she is on the right path. If she stays locked in, then sky’s the limit.
