A’leeyah, a guard for Prospects, stood out for her defensive tenacity at PGH MI College Tour II – Wayne State. She applied constant pressure the full length of the floor, using her quickness and active hands to disrupt ball handlers and force mistakes. Her energy on that end set the tone, but she also contributed offensively, stepping into and knocking down shots from beyond the arc when given space.

A’leeyah moved her feet quickly to force a turnover and worked hard to cut off dribble drives on the defensive end. She took a DHO straight to the rim with a burst and banked in the floater over a defender. A’leeyah converted full-speed finishes efficiently in transition, knocked down free throws, and drained a smooth wing three off the catch. She had a very impactful day for John Glenn at the Hemlock Holiday Classic, leading the team with 17 points and adding four rebounds.

A’leeyah had an impressive showing at Wade’s World Showcase, demonstrating why she’s a guard to watch. With her quickness and shifty moves, she attacked the rim with ease, finishing confidently around the basket. Her ball-handling skills were tight, allowing her to navigate traffic and create opportunities for herself and teammates. On the defensive end, she was tenacious, using her instincts and quick hands to disrupt opponents, and she also knocked down multiple shots from beyond the arc, showcasing her scoring versatility.

A’leeyah made her mark at the PGH Expo with her defensive intensity, earning a spot on my all-defensive team. She brought nonstop energy on that end of the floor, smothering ball-handlers with on-ball pressure and refusing to give opponents any easy looks. Her anticipation in the passing lanes consistently led to deflections and steals, while her quick reactions allowed her to contest shots and close out effectively on the perimeter. A’leeyah’s toughness showed in her willingness to battle for rebounds and scrap for loose balls, ensuring her team gained extra possessions. Her combination of effort, awareness, and determination made her one of the most disruptive defenders in the gym.

A’leeyah earned Second Team selection honors as one of Team 1’s top performers at the PGH Expo, standing out for her well-rounded offensive skill set and tenacious defensive play. As a guard, she displayed impressive ball-handling, using quick crossovers, sharp change-of-pace moves, and a smooth between-the-legs pull-through to create space and keep defenders guessing. Offensively, she knocked down a step-back mid-range jumper and showed a variety of finishes around the rim, including a controlled floater through traffic and strong drives that absorbed contact. She consistently made smart reads, finding open teammates when defenders collapsed on her. On the defensive end, A’leeyah played with relentless energy, using her quick hands and awareness to disrupt passing lanes and contest shots. Her blend of creativity, toughness, and versatility made her one of the most dynamic and impactful players on the floor.

A’leeyah is a prospect I’m excited to see this winter with Bay City John Glenn. She had a breakout spring with Michigan Prospects and another noteworthy day at the Northwood Elite Camp. A’leeyah attacked downhill with a burst through the gap, landed with a jump stop, and countered to score a layup. She jumped to the ball, anticipated drives, and turned ball-handlers with her quick feet. A’leeyah is a sharpshooter from beyond the arc, an excellent facilitator, and a scrappy defender.

A’leeyah looked ready to have a breakout freshman season for BCJG after a strong spring last year, but an injury put her high school career on hold. She’s back to business now and was in peak form for Michigan Prospects 2028 at the Cagers Invitational. A’leeyah was a sniper from the perimeter, draining many triples from the corners with a confident wrist-snap follow-through. She handled the ball effectively with both hands, penetrated gaps, dished strong passes, and scanned the court to find open teammates. A’leeyah drained a balanced straightaway triple off the bounce, cut off drives with her quick feet on defense, and secured rebounds.
