Alesia Chaves-Torres showed an ability handle the ball and get to the rim. She plays hard on both ends of the floor and consistently looks to attack the lane whenever space opens. Chaves-Torres repeatedly generated good offense — the stat sheet may not show it, but she made the correct basketball play nearly every time down the floor, even when teammates didn’t convert the shots. As she continues balance scoring with playmaking, she has the tools to become even more of a problem for defenses.

, a sophomore guard, has been on a tear this year, averaging 15.6 PPG with 11 games of 15 or more points and a season high of 24 against Eastside. Torres has increased her freshman output of 14.5 PPG, and before the season started, we projected her to raise her stock—and she has done exactly that so far this high school season. She continues to get better the more she plays, and I can’t wait to see what she does this travel season.

caught our eye at Puma Nationals this travel season, showcasing her playmaking ability with some of the nicest pocket passes and no-look feeds, while also knowing when to make the simple play. As a freshman, she led her team in scoring with 14.5 PPG while shooting 40% from the field. After a strong travel season gaining both exposure and confidence, it’s expected that she will have an even bigger sophomore campaign—potentially pushing her into the Top 50 in our next rankings.

Alessia is clearly a very skilled player and it showed early on Saturday. She did a nice job of crashing the boards on offense, and was one of the best passers I saw in Orlando. Her court vision and ability to pass the ball ahead or control the pace by slowing it down were very impressive.
