She has a smooth three-point stroke and can finish effectively over defenders at the rim. She’s also a capable mid-range scorer and pushes the pace in transition, handling the ball well and getting down the court quickly.

Alexa is off to a strong start this season, using her length and size to her advantage. She finishes over smaller defenders with a soft touch, plays well inside-out by kicking to open teammates, and does not force shots. Alexa is a frontline defender who brings both size and versatility. At 6’1”, she is able to guard multiple positions and protect the rim. Her mental edge is her defensive profile: someone willing to take on varied assignments, stay engaged, and defend above the rim.

Alexa is a small forward who is fun to watch. She runs the floor hard, pushes the ball for easy baskets, and can step out to knock down the three. Off the dribble, she has the quickness to beat defenders, and she knows when to take advantage of mismatches by posting up. What makes her stand out to me is her defense. At 6’1”, Alexa can guard multiple positions, get stops, and protect the rim. At 6’1”, she’s both a matchup nightmare on offense and a problem on defense.

What a special talent Huckaby is. The Hamden Hall wing is the #7 ranked player at the position. She is a tremendous creator that has cunning ballhandling skills. Huckaby creates lots of separation with her fast-paced dribble. She uses her tight handle and waits for players to bite before pouncing in the lane. She attacks players’ top foot which gives her that necessary extra millisecond to get her preferred angle. Huckaby doesn’t just hangout on the perimeter either. She will take advantage of any mismatch that gets tasked with guarding her. At 6’1, Alexa has the height advantage over a lot of players and she’ll post smaller player up. Her wiry frame combined with her long limbs keep her light on her feet. As a defender, she’s quite the rover. Her athletic frame allows her to wander around in help. Huckaby brings solid rebounding and will initiate the fastbreak after grabbing a board. She’s one of the region’s biggest stock risers in the class this year.
