Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I would describe my gameplay style as quick but under control. My main objective offensively is to create a shot for myself or my teammates. Defensively, my goal is to speed up the person I’m guarding and control their pace causing them to make mistakes and ultimately contribute to breaking down the offense.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My mentality is giving my all in every game to achieve mine and my team’s desired goals. I also never give up during a game. I believe no matter how the game is going you can always turn it around. I am a good team player. While making decisions on the court I consider what will best advance my team as a whole.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in the 21 and above club at my school for receiving a 21 or higher on my ACT. On top of basketball and volleyball, I have a part-time job at a boutique where I am the head sales associate. We just received the local award for Best of the Best 2024. When I have other free time I am active in my community and help with school events like field day at the local elementary schools.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have developed leadership, teamwork, and communication skills as I grew into new roles on teams throughout my life in several sports such as: volleyball, softball, and basketball(league, school, and AAU). Playing at different levels on different teams has helped me flourish as a person and develop skills I use in all aspects of life. It has provided me the opportunity to network and also mentor.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I have faced many physical challenges, but the most significant struggle I have faced was mental. During junior year my nose was broken in a basketball game. The injury required surgery during season. I thought I would lose everything that I had worked hard for. But, with the skills I had acquired to face adversity, not only did I persevere, I was able to achieve my most successful season.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college where I feel at home and have a bond with my school community, teammates, and coaches. I want to belong to a school where I am able to contribute as I grow both academically and athletically as I prepare for the next stages of my life. I want to embrace the full college experience.
